Remarks
College is one of best college of India. Overall college is good but changes are still required to make it more better. Sports are only for professionals. Other co-curricural are good, clubs are good. Coming to placements departments like CSE, mining and petroleum are good but for other branches it needs to be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is decent and modifications are being made to make more better. Exam structure is good ,new evaluation method is introduced this year, to which students are not much convinced. Two examination done per semester, midsem and endsem.
Placement Experience
Placement and job oppertunities are quite good,most of student get placed before their graduation.Yes,internships are also provided to pre final year students.I am a sophomore so I have no such experience.
College Events
There are lot of events happening throughout the year.Year starts with mining fest known as Khanan then technical fest Concetto.There is also a fest of electrical department Vibhav. Basant a fest of alumanies. Best one is cultural fest Srijan.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible as it is government college. Most of students gets fee waiver based on their family income. There are also various scholarships.Family income less than 1 lakh inr has full tution fee waiver,between 2 to 5 lakh gets two-third fee waiver.
Fees and Financial Aid
Student loan is available at the time of admission. State bank of branch is there specially for college. There are many scholarships. MCM scholarship is one of the major scholarships. Scholarships are given by state and central government.
Campus Life
There are lot of clubs. Two clubs are for dance namely LITM and WTC. ARTFREAKS for artists, photofreaks for photography, lights camera ISM for film making, cyber labs for developers, roboism for robotics, and many more. Almost all sports facilities available here. We have Olympic size swimming pool.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are decent. Rate is according to facilities. There are different hostels named on gemstones. Different hostel for different year students.Also different hostels for boys and girls. There is also one hostel for foreign students.
Alumni/Alumna
College is established in 1926 ,we are going to complete 100 years in 1926. We have large alumni base. Alumni network is quiet good. They come in college fests and others events. We have a particular fest for alumni named as Basant. College seniors are also very helpful. There is club run by cse department seniors named as codeIsm to help us to crack coding internships and placements.
Admission
Previously known as Indian school of mines now converted to Indian institute of technology admission is taken through IIT Joint entrance examination Advanced. After result get announced counseling is done. Students gets colleges based on their ranks.
Faculty
Faculty are also good , most of them are assistant professors. Teaching methodology of few faculty is not good enough as per college reputation. Faculties are supportive and have good background. Student : faculty relation is quiet good.
