Remarks

The college infrastructure is best, However, the location is not good as compared to IIT Delhi or Mumbai. Moreover, the weather condition is extreme here. The management is good and they care too much for the students.

Entrance Preview

GATE cleared in Production and Industrial stream and I have taken brilliant tutorial notes for the same. I have chosen this institute because this is nearer to my house location and I am eligible with cut-off limit given by this IIT.

Internships Opportunities

I have done my internship at Highway Industries limited , Ludhiana with no stipend. Overall, it is good.

Placement Experience

About 50 % were placed in M.tech and Ph.D. and offer varies from 5 LPA to 10LPA.

College Events

Thomso is the main event in IIT Roorkee. Also cognizant and other festivals are also celebrated with great enthusiasm here.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got an MHRD scholarship @ 8000 per month in MTech and 28, 000.00 per month in Ph.D.

Campus Life

Campus life is good and gender ratio, The females are less, because few females were cleared for the entrance test. Everything is ok.

Hostel Facilities

The infrastructure facilities at IIT Roorkee is best hostal and Azad Bhawan mess is best as compared to all mess.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement from their final year however some students also get PPO from the internships they do. Hu dreds of companies visit in a single placement session and the package may vary from lakhs to crores (not for phd)

I love my college years.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester of the course, the students are eligible for the college placement session. We all know that the IITs are known for their campus placements with very high packages for Jobs. The college placement quality is awesome because the institution is the best university, and placement also has a very high percentage. The college has a record of 85 percent selection in Placement and the remaining 15% are those who leave the placement sessions to do something else or open any start-up. The college's highest placement offer is 2 crore per annum and the average wage placement is 30- 35 lacs per annum. The main recruiting companies are Snapdragon, Amazon, Google, etc. My plans are different I want to become a college professor.

Remarks:

One of the top IITs with good infrastructure and location. Near to my hometown with nice research facilities and helpful faculties. Ambience of this college is very nice. Being a research scholar in such prestigious university is a matter of pride.

Admission:

The applicant must have cleared NET JRF to get admission in the PhD program at CSIR. Only top rank holders are offered a seat since there are only 10 seats for the program. I was preparing for the NET exam for almost one year. I was lucky to secure the rank.

Admission:

Getting a Ph.D. in IITs is depends on your research area and your interest. I have done my M.Tech from IIT Hyderabad after which I applied for Ph.D. admission to IIT Roorkee. Where followed by a technical interview I got admission. I have qualified GATE-2013 and GATE-2017 however, Being an M.tech degree holder from IIT Hyderabad helped me a lot in getting a Ph.D. Although, these days GATE is not mandatory for Ph.D. admission if you are an M.Tech degree holder.

The feeling of being in IIT Roorkee

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. No i didnt get rejection from any college with my rank in jee main and advanced 2025 The admission process is straight like 1) JEE main 2) JEE Advanced 3) Josaa counselling Cutoff for top seven iits is higher than all other iits neans that you cant get into top seven just by qualifying jee advanced, you must have a good rank....Read More

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. If you get good rank , you will get this college. You will have to get air under 5000 to get in iit roorkee or any top iit....Read More

1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More

IIT Roorkee - all abouts

JEE advanced has to be cleared to get into any IIT. For the branch I'm in, the crl should be around 4k for general boys and 8-9k for general girls. Application fees increase every year at least from my time till now it is increasing and now it is more than 1000 for girls and around 2000 for boys(general)....Read More
