Remarks
The college has a very sexist approach. It also is a big struggle if you don't know Tamil. I would definetly not recommend anyone to go to the college in the long or short run. The only good thing is that the food around the college is cheap.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the course is slightly out dated. Mostly one studies for exams using PPTs uploaded by the faculty. There are small tests held every month, two mid term exams, one project and one final exam every semester.
Placement Experience
Placements are good only if you are an IT or Computer Science student. Other than that, a mass recruitment firm is what you are looking at generally. As for internships, you have to find those on your own and you can forget about a stipend.
College Events
Both republic Day and independence Day are celebrated by flag hoisting in the morning. They also celebrate pongal. However, the most celebrated events are the founding family's members' birthdays. Lots of posters are put up, sweets distributed and a function is held for the same.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive. Vit is basically a money making institution. That's how they were able to open other branches. Also after paying that much money, people can't speak up as they will just be kicked out of the college losing both, their years and the fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college gives scholarships to the Topper of each stream. However, the amount is pretty merger and can definetly not pay off your tuition our hostel expense. One also might get a scholarship based on their marks in the entrance exam.
Campus Life
Although the college has extra curricular activities, there are way too many students. This means that not even a fraction of them can gain access to any of these. A lot of the activities are also only there on paper. You also have to pay to access a lot of them.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is vast and connected generally. Although I've personally never sought any help from them, I have been told they are very helpful. Seniors in the college were very friendly though.
Admission
They have their own entrance exam. Those who are selected are called based on their ranks to book their seats. Then as people choose their seats and courses, the seats in those fill up. There are certain seats left for students who come in on the management criteria as well.
Faculty
The faculty is mostly PHD students from the college itself. Some of them are pretty competent and some are lucky to be alive cause they are pretty stupid. They also lack a lot of knowledge about things. A lot of them also indulge in favouring students that speak a particular language.
