If you're getting admission to Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi, don't even worry about placements. Even students from textile engineering secure great placements. It's IIT DELHI! Power and Automation is definitely a solid branch.

Here are some key points to consider:

  • You'll have plenty of opportunities to explore other minors/electives.
  • After 4 years, if you want to enter core electrical or software companies, you'll have ample opportunities.
  • Most B.Tech graduates end up in analyst, consulting, or finance roles, and you'll be well-prepared for those too.

Trust me, you won't regret this decision!

I’d say pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Power and Automation at IIT Delhi is a solid choice. The course curriculum is well-structured and you get to explore different subjects. Internship opportunities are plentiful; around 400 companies visit campus, and about 60-70% of students secure internships. The placement scene is even better—80% of students get placed with packages ranging from 20 to 25 lakh. There are also scholarships available for those who perform well academically, which helps with the high tuition fees.

Doing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Power and Automation from IIT Delhi is definitely worth it! The curriculum is designed to bridge core engineering jobs and coding roles, which really attracted me. Plus, the internship opportunities are crazy good. I’ve heard of my seniors earning up to 25 lakh just from internships! The placement stats are impressive too—around 70% of students get placed, and the highest packages can go up to 4 crore. The campus life is vibrant with various fests like Rendezvous, so it’s not all about studies!

Hi, Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi focuses more on communication engineering and electromagnetics, while Electrical (Power and Automation) emphasizes electric drives and power engineering. Aside from these four courses, all Electrical Engineering students are essentially in the same environment.

The main difference arises during placements when companies often confuse Electrical with Electronics and Communication, and Power and Automation with Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). However, these two courses are quite similar. The curriculum at IIT Delhi is designed to offer a good amount of flexibility, allowing students to pursue a minor degree in their area of interest.

Good luck!
