I’m in the B.Tech + M.Tech Chemical Engineering branch at IIT Delhi, and I have mixed feelings about the course. The faculty is impressive, but the teaching style is not the best. Still, I appreciate the balance between academics and extra activities. For internships, there are plenty of options, and stipends can be quite high. When it comes to placements in 2025/26, the stats are encouraging. With nearly 98-100% placement rates and companies like Jane Street offering 4 Cr packages, it’s a great time to graduate from here!
Studying B.Tech + M.Tech in Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi has been an interesting journey. The curriculum is decent, and while the exams are tough (thanks to the JEE-level difficulty), it prepares us well for real-world challenges. Internships are great too; you can earn between 50K to 2L per month, which is solid. For placements in 2026, I'm optimistic. Companies start hiring from the second last semester, and the average package hovers around 16 LPA. The environment here is competitive, but the opportunities are definitely worth it.
I'm currently in the B.Tech + M.Tech Chemical Engineering program at IIT Delhi, and I chose this branch mainly because it was the best option available for me. The professors here are highly qualified, many with PhDs from abroad, but honestly, their teaching methods could use some improvement. The course load is manageable, which gives us time for extracurriculars.
Regarding placements in 2025/26, top companies like FAANG and MAANG come for campus recruitment. The highest package last year was around 4 Cr from Jane Street, and almost all students get placed, which is a huge plus!
