Tuition fees = 1 lakh/semester
Mess and accommodation = around 32,000/semester

If you are a B.Tech program student, you will have 8 semesters (2 semesters a year for 4 years).
So, 1,32,0008 = INR 10,56,000

If you are in the M.Tech (dual degree) program, you will have 10 semesters (an extra year).
So, 1,32,00010 = INR 13,20,000

If you belong to the SC/ST category or EWS, your entire tuition fee is waived off!
For SC, ST, or EWS students:

  • For B.Tech program: Total fees = 32,0008 = INR 2,56,000
  • For dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech): Total fees = 32,00010 = INR 3,20,000

Scholarships are available based on your ranks!
If you achieve a good GPA, your fees may be waived off to some extent.

Hope this helps!

For every semester, the costs are as follows:

  • Tuition Fees - Rs 1,00,000
  • Mess and other fees - Rs 35,000

So, for 4 years: Rs 135,000 8 = Rs 1,080,000.

This is applicable for general category students and those with a family income above Rs 8 lakhs a year. If you belong to the SC/ST category, the tuition fees are completely waived off. Additionally, students from economically weaker backgrounds can benefit from various fee concessions.

With the right income level, you may end up paying very little or even nothing for the entire 4 years at IIT!

I hope this helps! Thank you!
