Is doing B.Tech Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Delhi any good?

Alternatively, consider preparing for an MBA or pursuing an M.Tech from IITs or other government institutions. However, diving into research and looking for opportunities abroad can be more beneficial, as many prospects exist there.

India is starting to emerge in biotechnology, but don’t expect to land jobs in technical roles right away. Many companies may offer marketing positions, with salaries around 12k to 15k per month. If that works for you, it might be worth considering. Otherwise, focus on research projects and publications to build a stronger foundation for your career.

I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Delhi, and I believe it's a great choice! The curriculum is quite challenging, but it prepares you well for the future. With the increasing demand for biotech professionals, especially after recent global health crises, the scope for our field is really high. The fees are around ?1,19,000 per semester, which is a bit steep, but the infrastructure and campus life make it worth it. There are tons of clubs and activities that help in overall development. If you're passionate about biotechnology, IIT Delhi is definitely a solid option.

Choose any engineering branch at IIT-Delhi because it is a Tier-1 Indian engineering college.

Placement claims made by Tier-1 Indian engineering colleges:

• Practice computer programming to become a computer engineer (5–50 LPA, depending on skills). These companies care less about academic credentials and more about TopCoder and GitHub profiles of applicants.
• Become managers in the industry, based on luck and personal networking (5–15 LPA, depending on luck). These companies heavily rely on the previous academic credentials of job applicants from their college.
