I’m currently in the B.Tech Civil Engineering branch at IIT Delhi, and honestly, it’s a pretty solid experience. The curriculum is designed to push you, with a mix of self-study and classroom learning. The professors are highly qualified, mostly with PhDs, so you know you’re in good hands. Placement-wise, by 2025, many big names like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft are expected to recruit from our batch. Last year, around 1000 offers were made, with the highest package touching 2.65 crore! It's a competitive field, but if you apply yourself, you can definitely secure a good spot.

I took Civil Engineering at IIT Delhi because my family encouraged me to, and I’m glad I did. The teaching here focuses more on understanding and applying knowledge rather than just rote learning, which I find helps in grasping concepts better. For placements in 2026, I’ve heard that around 70% of those who applied got placed in top companies, and the salaries are impressive, especially in tech and consultancy. They had a record of companies hiring about 1000 students last year, so I’m optimistic for the future.

Being in the Civil Engineering department at IIT Delhi has its ups and downs. The curriculum is rigorous, with tough exams and a focus on self-learning. But the faculty is supportive and well-qualified, which makes a difference. When it comes to placements in 2025, the opportunities look bright, with major firms visiting and a decent percentage of students getting placed. The highest package was a jaw-dropping 2.65 crore, which is insane! If you’re willing to work hard, this branch can definitely lead to great prospects.
