What is the reputation of IIT Delhi in New Delhi for studying BE/B.Tech??

IIT Delhi is a fantastic place to pursue a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering! The faculty here are really knowledgeable, and the curriculum covers all the essential subjects like Thermodynamics and Chemical Reaction Engineering. Plus, the placement stats are impressive; around 85% of us get placed, with big names like Amazon and Google hiring from our campus. The hostel life is decent too, and the mess menu has a good variety of dishes. Overall, I'm really happy with my choice!

I’ll share some insights from my experience at IIT Delhi.

Value addition: If I had to define value addition in terms of earning potential, I’d say that for most non-CS graduates, pursuing a further degree helps unlock the true value of an IIT degree.

In terms of "learning" or "personal growth," the contribution of IIT is unparalleled and simply phenomenal. The four-year regimen taught me how to manage time, overcome failures, handle challenges, influence others, and so much more.

Brand Image:

• a) Within India: Even if you’ve been labeled as a duffer for a long time, flashing the IIT Delhi degree will make people reconsider their perceptions.
• b) Outside India: IIT is the only college from India that most people have ever heard of.

The IIT brand is strong, but it doesn’t quite match the prestige of some Ivy League colleges.

Opportunities are created by individuals. A word of caution: don’t expect the IIT brand value alone to generate opportunities for you.

I’m currently studying B.Tech in Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi, and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience. The workload can be intense with minor and major exams each semester, but it’s manageable. The campus is vibrant with clubs for drama, dance, and even astronomy! Plus, we have some of the best placement opportunities in the country. This year, companies like Microsoft and Goldman Sachs came to recruit, and around 1300 offers were made. It’s a great environment for both academics and extracurriculars!

IIT Delhi is a prestigious institute with some outstanding and unique schools of learning. The campus is beautiful, and the surroundings are pleasant. Housing facilities are good too. Living there will be both enjoyable and rewarding!

You probably don’t need my advice, but here it is anyway:

• Work hard.
• Stay focused and aim for good grades.
• Remember, there’s no shortcut to a solid education.
