How was your experience like at the Faculty of Law Delhi University?

Thanks for asking. I want to share with everyone that I decided to leave the LLB program right before the first-semester exams. The choice was pretty straightforward for me. LLB was more of a backup option, just like the SSC CGL exam. Luckily, both worked out, but I had to pick one. My CGL results came out after I had already started at the law faculty. After thinking it over, I opted for CGL. I never really aimed for a career in litigation. I considered the judiciary path but realized it would be too challenging to balance with my main goal, which is UPSC.

My time at the law faculty was wonderful, despite it being short. I made some great friends there. The campus is big and has a really nice atmosphere. The new law faculty building is amazing, with all the modern amenities. The classes were timed well, and I was usually done by 1:30 in the afternoon. There are various student societies, and I joined the fashion society, which was a lot of fun. The faculty members are among the best in India. One of my professors, who taught us about the Indian Penal Code, recently got the 9th rank in the Bihar Judicial Services, which shows the high standard.

The college has produced some outstanding judges, lawyers, and bureaucrats for the country, and I feel really proud to have been part of such a renowned institution. I miss it a lot. Here are some memories:

My experience at the Faculty of Law Delhi University has been quite enriching. The curriculum of the Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] is well-structured and covers essential legal principles like Constitutional Law and Contract Law. The faculty is good, with many experienced teachers who are approachable and supportive.

However, the exams are quite challenging, and scoring high can be tough. Overall, the learning environment is stimulating, and being in the North campus vibe adds to the experience. I’m also glad about the low fees, which makes it accessible for many students like me.

Studying Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] at Delhi University has been a mixed bag for me. The faculty is quite knowledgeable, but the student-teacher ratio can make it hard to get individual attention since classes can be quite large.

The curriculum is interesting, especially with real-life case studies, but the teaching method could definitely use more interaction. On the placement front, while there are opportunities, not everyone secures a job after graduation.

The campus life is decent, with active societies, but I wish there were more events organized by the college itself.

It's amazing! I just finished my LL.B at Delhi University's Faculty of Law this year, and the last three years have been unforgettable! The campus is right in the heart of North Campus, with all the famous DU colleges nearby. There's a library, gym, canteen, and other facilities, plus affordable food.

The best part is the people you meet! The students are hardworking and friendly, always ready to help, even during exam time. The teachers and infrastructure are great too, especially with additions like Umang Bhawan.

The Wisdom Tree in the old faculty courtyard is a classic spot. Grabbing tea and chatting about anything and everything is a perfect way to spend your evenings. The faculty is supportive, and the course material is top-notch. They provide free quality material for each subject every semester.

You learn so much here that applies to everyday life, like jurisprudence, contracts, torts, and IPC, all making life a bit easier. However, the grading is tough! The exams are challenging, sometimes even tougher than the UPSC or Judicial Services exams, so you need to work hard to get a first-class score. Getting a distinction is nearly impossible, probably only achieved by someone like the former President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee!

Classes aren't too long, just 4-5 hours a day, leaving plenty of time for other activities like preparing for competitive exams, working part-time, or just hanging out with friends.

The environment is super relaxed! It's not like other law schools with intense competition for placements or internships. Often, your friends might help you snag an internship or even a job.

But the most valuable thing I gained here is friends—all talented lawyers who are sure to achieve great things. Life at the Faculty of Law is pretty awesome and helps you grow in so many ways!
