The University of Delhi provides limited hostel accommodations, with 17 hostels, including 2 for international students, and a total of 40-50 seats typically allocated to certain colleges based on academic merit and category. Hostel fees range from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 13,500 annually, with a significant portion refundable as a security deposit. Accommodation is generally on a sharing basis, with two students per room, and the cost of private PGs or flats ranges from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 21,000 per month, depending on location and amenities.
The hostel facilities include a mess offering affordable and hygienic food, sports rooms, 24-hour security, and separate hostels for boys and girls. Despite the good infrastructure, the limited availability of hostel seats forces many students to seek private accommodation. The application process for hostels is entirely online and can begin before final admission is confirmed.
