Getting into an IIT involves taking the All India JEE Advanced exam, and IITs mainly focus on engineering fields. However, they also offer programs in areas like management and interdisciplinary studies. There are 23 IITs across India.
On the other hand, BHU is a central university founded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916. It offers a wide range of courses in fields like management, science, law, medicine, arts, agriculture, geology, commerce, languages, music, and dance, except for engineering. Admissions to BHU are conducted through the Common University Entrance Test at the national level.
Interestingly, what used to be IT BHU became a separate entity and was designated as an IIT in 2012.
