Both Calicut and IGNOU offer valid distance education degrees. You can choose any of these institutes for a distance learning course. As degrees offered by IGNOU and Calicut University are UGC-DEB approved.
However, IGNOU degrees are more recognized in the country. For Govt. sector jobs degrees from both these universities are valid and eligible.

Both Calicut University and IGNOU are UGC-certified. Calicut will offer you regular programs whereas IGNOU has distance education. Most of the private companies don’t accept IGNOU degree as it carry less value. Though you will not face any problems in the government sector since both are approved by UGC.
If you have enough time, it’s best to do a regular degree rather than a distance course. So, you must go to Calicut University.
