Sharda University and Amity University are famous for their placements and career opportunities. While Amity University is among the top choice for MBA applicants, Sharda University also offers a wide range of courses.
Choosing among these two universities also depends on the course curriculum, scholarships offered, fees, placements, faculty, social life, etc. You must analyse all the factors as every student has a different perspective.
In terms of exposure, Amity University is a better choice as many international students join the university across the globe. Also, the university has a lot of campuses in India making it possible for students to interact with each other during various fests and competitions.
For admission, Sharda University conducts a Sharda University Admission Test called SUAT for various UG and PG courses. It is a 90-minute CBT mode exam having 150 MCQs with no negative marking. The test is not so tough and the minimum passing mark required is 35%. While Amity University's admission criteria are merit-based. The applicants are also required to appear for a personal interview round for the final selection.
Talking about fee structure, Amity University Noida charges higher fees in comparison to Sharda University. The B.Tech fees range from INR 9.08 Lakhs to INR 16.52 Lakhs at Amity Noida whereas B.Tech fees start from INR 7.32 Lakhs at Sharda University.
Both of the universities have tie-ups with top MNCs for offering placement opportunities. The highest package of Amity Noida is INR 61.75 LPA (B.Tech) whereas the highest package of Sharda University stood at INR 1 CPA so far. During Amity University placements 2023, the highest recruiter was Accenture with 3582 job offers followed by Wipro with 3268 offers.
Amity University students have a more vibrant college life as they get to attend multiple fests, like Amiphoria, Amity Youth Fest, Utsav, Sangathan, Amimun, Literature Festival, etc. Also, it has 25 clubs which you can join as per your interest. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Guru Randhawa, etc have also visited the campus.
One of my friends, who is working in Cognizant, has studied Electronics & Communication Engineering at Nirma University. As per her insights, the following are the things essentially wrong with the University.
Overall, the only way all this can go smoothly is to change the mentality by focusing on why and what to learn, future benefits, and practical approaches.
I am a student at VIT and have friends at Manipal Institute of Technology. Here are some facts about both-
The faculty at Manipal isn’t great.
Both the colleges have enormous student populations, and are great for building networks. You can choose either of them as both are at par with each other.
According to Mumbai University ATKT rules, engineering students are allowed a maximum of 5 end-semester and 3 internal KTs. Including end-semester and internals, you can have a maximum of 8 KTs in the first year.
You need to clear your first-year KTs by the end of 2nd year, i.e. 4th semester. Students aren’t allowed to carry any first-year KT to the third year. Even if you clear all first-year KTs by the 4th semester except 1, you have to take a drop. It is the golden KT rule.
Freshers are allotted these three hostels(the first two are for boys and the last one is for girls): Vishweshvarayya Hostel, S N Bose Hostel, and Gandhi Smriti Mahila Chhatravas.
My brother lived in IIT-BHU Hostel and got to experience all the good and bad of hostel life at IIT-BHU. According to him:
ROOMS
OTHER FACILITIES: Common rooms, Canteens, Mess, TV Room, Badminton court, TT tables, and lawns. There’s also high-speed internet which can be connected through both, Wi-Fi and LAN
FOOD AND HOSTEL CANTEENS- The food is above average, better than other colleges and most of the other IITs.
Hostel canteens close between 2:30 A.M to 4:00 A.M. Students can still obtain food from within the campus at any time
HOSTEL TIMINGS- Apart from the first few months, there are no in-and-out hostel timings for boys. However, for girls, there is a strict time restriction, 10 PM.
HOSTEL STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION- The hostel staff and administration are friendly and supportive. You can also ask your Maharaja to make a dish that you wish to eat.
You will certainly face some challenges as you try to adjust to your new life. Living in and sharing small rooms with strangers will be difficult at first. You will have to learn to manage with very basic facilities, but as you make more and more friends at your hostel, you will come to enjoy every day that you spend there.
Also, some of these experiences are subjective, while others can also be different for a different academic batch. My brother completed his graduation in 2018.
The choice depends on what matters the most to you.
If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.
I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Honestly speaking, BIT Mesra is nowhere near the IITs and top NITs. It can however be compared to other NITs like NIT Rourkela, Jamshedpur. Surat, etc.
The institute is known to have excellent campus facilities but the opportunities in core branches are limited. BIT Mesra is a brand name well-known among private colleges. It can be compared to the new IITs to a little extent and is even better than VIT and Manipal University. The only drawback is that getting a high GPA here is quite challenging.
Nevertheless, BIT Mesra is a decent choice for many if you consider the following points
Ultimately, BIT Mesra is better than most NITs but not at par with IITs and a few top NIT.
SPJIMR usually expects an all-rounder profile from its candidates. A profile is said to be good if
All three or at least 2 of these shall guarantee or increase your chances of admission considerably for a profile-based call from SPJIMR. An additional ground to score well is the application form wherein you are required to fill in about yourself. If your matter appeals to the selection committee you can surely wait for a call. The admission process further comprises two group interviews, essays, and psychometric tests.
We can safely conclude that SPJIMR focuses on an overall good profile and not just high scores.
