In what aspects is IIIT Delhi better than DTU?
Good universities offer top faculty, curriculum, research opportunities, projects, hands-on and connections. Extracurricular facilities always come second.
The academic facilities at IIIT Delhi are far better. It offers a far better infrastructure too. DTU has a legacy of its own. But unfortunately, it has done nothing to improve its classrooms, labs, library, and hostels. Getting a hostel at DTU is difficult, and its hostel facilities are not even comparable to those of IIITD. The campus of DTU is definitely much bigger.
Campus life at IIITD is weaker because it is a new institute with a much smaller student population. However, it provides clubs, events, and fests like any other college. You’ll get all the sports facilities at IIITD.
If you wish for better academics and research opportunities, choose IIITD without hesitation.
How is mechanical engineering at NIT Jamshedpur?
The mechanical branch is ranked second in terms of placement at NIT Jamshedpur. The fact that it is located in the heart of the state of Jharkhand, helps the campus a great deal. It has easy accessibility via flights, trains, and buses from any part of the country.

Both the institutes are government institutes and provide best in class education when it comes to Fire and safety engineering. They offer good placement opportunities in government and private organizations with good packages. However, NFSC Nagpur might be the choice to go due to the following reasons.
CUSAT:
Let’s discuss CUSAT first.
- The institute offers both fire and safety which includes more topics related to engineering courses which are very useful from a placements perspective.
- CUSAT is both AICTE and NBA accredited so has a good curriculum.
- One of the downsides is that in CUSAT fire drills do not take place regularly which is required by some companies during the placement process.
- Even though it is a very famous college in South India and has a good placement record, the infrastructure is a bit old compared to NFSC Nagpur.
- The competition here for the Fire and Safety course is more and you need to have a good rank in the CUSATCAT.
NFSC Nagpur:
- NFSC Nagpur has a course curriculum that is in line with the world’s top institutes with more focus given to physical standards and course syllabus.
- The institute focuses more on the fire drill process and physical fitness along with the academic part.
- It is a central government institute and provides the best placements for its students. The institute's alumni hold top positions in top fire organizations in India. The value of fire engineering here matches the IIT tag when it comes to fire engineering.
- It is very much necessary to have proper time management to align yourself with daily routines. All the hard work you put in will be reaped as many top companies including PSU’s come for recruitment here.
- BE in Fire course is a newly added one in this institute and competition is a bit less. The first few batches have passed with flying colors and have good placement records with the average package being around 10 LPA.
Considering all the facts above it is safe to say that NFSC Nagpur is the best option of the two. It is a central Govt. college under the Ministry of Home Affairs and has a rich alumni network in major public and private organizations.
Which is better Rajalakshmi Engineering College or Easwari Engineering College?
Rajalakshmi Engineering College is better than Easwari Engineering College. In comparison, it gives more importance to academics. The institute also offers proper guidance and training for job search. Around 322 recruiting companies took part in Rajalakshmi Engineering College placements. TCS, Accenture, HCL, Wipro, L&T, IBM, Cisco, Infosys, ICICI Bank, etc. were among the major recruiters that took part in the campus recruitment.
What is the scope in chemical engineering at BIT, Mesra in terms of placement and package?
Though BIT Mesra is a highly renowned engineering college, I would advise against joining any other branch at it except for CS/IT. The other branches are not very good placement-wise, especially when BIT Mesra is such a renowned college.
Core companies do visit the Chemical department for placements, recruiting a decent number of students each year. Apart from them, few Analytics firms and IT companies also recruit from the department. These IT companies include Infosys and Cognizant. Some of the department students clear exams like CAT or GATE, and as a result, go for higher studies/PSUs.
In 2022, from B.Tech Chemical Engineering (excluding Plastic and Polymer), 34 out of 45 students were successfully placed from the campus (43 were eligible for placements). The lowest CTC was 4 LPA, the average CTC was 8.44 LPA, the median CTC was 8.10 LPA, and the highest CTC was 12.84 LPA during these placements.
Thus, BIT Mesra is not a very good choice for Chemical Engineering in terms of placements.

How is the accomodation at NITIE for PGDIM students?
One of my cousins was a part of NITIE Mumbai and has a better outlook regarding the same. Here is what he has to say,
- NITIE Mumbai is equipped with a 16 storied hostel apartment for boys, commonly called the Taylor Hostel, and almost 8 to 10 equipped for the girls, mostly known as the Gilbreth Hostel.
- The girls’ hostel is quite old and outmoded.
- The rooms of the Gilbreth Hostel, however, are quite a bit more spacious than what is in the boys’ hostel.
- The hostel arrives with 27 rooms on every floor, with a twin sharing policy added.
- It comes with two beds, two tables and chairs, and two individual cupboards.
- The rooms are gigantic and completely airy.
- The view side of the institute’s hostel is beyond explanation as well. It overlooks the Vihar Lake on one side, while the Hiranandani Gardens on another.
- The food you can avail in two messes is commonly known as Sarabhai and Taylor hall. Mostly, the food quality remains constantly the same either way.
- The hostels also have table tennis courts, and mounted television sets as well.

How are rooms allocated at IIITM Gwalior?
There is a separate room for the first-year graduates and integrated dual degree Mtech and MBA students. The hostel for first-year students is BH-2 (NILGIRI HOSTEL). The process for applying for the hostel is simple. When you visit the college for final verification after you complete all your formalities you get a hostel registration form.
After you got the form, you have to visit BH-2 and simply ask the warden for room registration. The warden will guide you to all the rooms and the best part is you have full freedom to select the room of your choice. You just have to take a look at all the available rooms and get them registered.
Coming to the occupancy of the room, rooms are available for single as well as double occupancy depending on your comfort, though most of the Btech students go for single occupancy. The lobby could be peaceful or loud depending on the students of the nearby rooms.
