How is hostel facilities in acharya institute of technology?
A friend of mine stayed at the HKG Hall of Residence at Acharya Institute. Some of the important aspects of the hostel life at Acharya Institute according to his experience are as follows.
- The double sharing hostel rooms are priced at INR 1.1 and INR 1.47 Lakh per annum respectively.
- The rooms are spacious and come with attached bedding, storage facilities, and lights.
- The quality of food available in the hostel mess can be better.
- In some cases, the food items either get over within 15 to 20 minutes of being served, and at other times a huge quantity of food gets wasted.
- However, not everyone comes here for wasting food and recouping money thereafter.
- The majority of the occupiers of the hostel are students of 1st year, whereas most of these students move out of the hostels into individual accommodations or PG room services once they are through 2nd year.
- The hostel environment, room-mates, and fellow students will have a direct impact on your study and personal experience.
- It is essential to learn to develop your own skills while living in the hostel and studying at the institute in order to ensure progress.
However, considering all the above factors, you should make a firm decision while choosing the hostels. As your main aim is to study & develop new learning skills for career growth while living in the hostel and wasting your money should not be your priority.
What are the pros and cons of studying at Kalindi College, Delhi University?
Like every other college, Kalindi College of Delhi University also has its pros and cons. Here are some facts about it:
Pros:
- At Kalindi some of the departments are better than others, these include the Journalism, Political Science and the Science department.
- They have a really cooperative and helpful faculty, who are also highly experienced in their respective fields.
- The college conducts seminars, workshops and industry visits for the students to acquire practical knowledge.
- The Journalism department has an upgraded lab with all the necessary and modern softwares and applications.
- There are a lot of interdepartmental fests being held by different college clubs and societies.
- Students are able to participate and engage in dramatics, fashion, debating, singing, NCC and NSS.
- The student crowd is diverse, with students from different cultures and backgrounds.
- There are a variety of sports like weight lifting, karate, volleyball, handball, Badminton, athletics, yoga, etc. Practice sessions and matches are conducted regularly. Students are encouraged to take part in them actively.
- They also have self-defence camps, sports day, etc.
Cons:
- The administration is not at all cooperative with the students. The work never gets completed in time.
- Accommodation is not sufficient but there are a variety of choices and food quality is good. Hygiene is maintained.
- The campus is smaller as compared to other colleges.
You should give more preference to the course while choosing college than any other reason. Because your interest and dedication towards the subject will fetch you a good career more than the reputation of the college.
Does IQAS recognise a distance learning BCA from Sikkim Manipal University for an ECA?
As far as it is known, IQAS and ICES solely acknowledge degrees from Sikkim Manipal University. For ECA you should opt for Sikkim Manipal University but do not go for WES as they do not recognize degrees from SMU.
It is suggested that you opt for IQAS as they take 5 – 6 weeks for the fulfillment of the process accurately whereas ICES generally takes around 25 weeks for the completion of the same.

How is the integrated M.Sc in Pondicherry University?
Some of my friends studied at Pondicherry University. According to them, they offer three Integrated M.Sc programs –
- Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science
- Physics, Chemistry and Applied Geology
- History, Sociology and Political Science
You will have to choose from these three disciplines only and then choose the major subject among them.
The advantages of the course and university are listed below.
- You can exit the course after three years with a B.Sc degree.
- The syllabus is light even though there are three major subjects and thus you can take up any additional courses you like.
- The university offers freedom in terms of uniform, timetable, and everything else while many of the undergraduate colleges still have school-like rules.
- You can study an undergraduate course from a university which is pretty rare.
Studying 5 years in an Arts stream is difficult and should be reconsidered. The best course is Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Geology. Doing M.Sc in Computer Science is also not a good idea.
How transparent is the PGDM admission process for Great Lakes Chennai?
Unfortunately, the Great Lakes PGDM admission process is not at all transparent. The candidates are never provided with the waitlists. Although there are 2 cycles for around 120 seats, they don’t reveal how many seats they fill with cycle 2.
In fact, the students of the second cycle never receive emails for selection, and the interviews conducted date just for formality.
The admissions results are not announced for weeks and the administration does not even care to respond to emails. Great Lakes Gurgaon on the other hand responds well to emails and the authorities will somehow convince you to consider Great Lakes Gurgaon over Chennai.
The entire process is very fishy and students are misled even after paying registration fees.

The IMT Ghaziabad selection process begins with a round of critical thinking wherein the candidate is required to present his views on a debatable topic given.
Parameters: This process evaluates you
- critical thinking
- written communication skills
- creative thinking
How to ace: In order to ace this round, you need to follow the multi-pronged strategy of assertion-reasoning-example-linkage. Firstly assert your viewpoint, reason it out well, support your viewpoint through good examples and then link it with the given topic. To perform the best, you will have to be aware of the recent issues around you and practice writing a lot.
Group Discussion
Group discussion and Personal Interview are the 3 major rounds of the IMT admission process. For this round, you will be divided into small groups. The group is given a problem to solve or a task to perform. The manner in which they have dealt with the issue or completed the task becomes the basis of the judgment of this round.
Parameters: The aspirants are judges on parameters like
- contribution of ideas
- leadership potential
- interpersonal skills
- communication and attitude
How to ace: Try to participate in the group exercise activities and provide unique ideas. Try to demonstrate leadership skills also.
Personal Interview: This is the final and most impactful round of the entire IMT Ghaziabad admission process. You need to ace this round to get shortlisted finally.
Parameters: During the interview, you will be evaluated on the basis of following criteria

- general awareness

How to ace: This round is the most crucial. You should prepare a lot for it beforehand as you will be interviewed on the basis of past academic performance, your work on previous projects, general awareness, and your resume. The best way to enhance your communication skills is to listen to the interviews of eloquent speakers in your field of interest. You should answer their questions confidently even if they ask something you are not aware of.

Which calculator is allowed for use in Anna University exams?
Only scientific calculators are allowed for use in Anna University exams. Programmable Calculators are not allowed. The most commonly used calculators are fx-991MS, fx-991ES, fx-100MS, and fx-350MS. All these calculators are non-programmable.
To identify a programmable calculator check for buttons like IF' 'P1' 'P2' 'P3' etc. Also, the model name of a programmable calculator ends with the letter P.
You can use Casio fx-991ES in Anna University Exams. It’s the most popular calculator at Anna University. You won’t be provided with calculators from the college and will have to carry your own.
What was your placement experience at Thapar University?
My brother shared his placement experience at Thapar University. He got a break of one month prior to placement season. This break was meant for preparing for the interviews and gave him enough time to work on his aptitude, coding, and other technical skills. He was inclined towards core profile jobs so he focused mainly on aptitude and technical skills.
- The first interview he sat for was TCS Digital but he failed to clear its written test.
- Next came Varroc of which his written test went very well, but sadly they didn't select anyone from his branch.
- For Asian paints, he managed to clear the written round but failed in the group discussion round
- After this, he appeared for around 4–5 IT/Software companies but failed to clear the rounds.
- After this, Capgemini had 2 written rounds which he cleared easily but his interview was postponed.
- The next day he heard that Reliance was also coming. It was his dream to get selected there but he wasn’t sure if he could reject Capgemini for Reliance.
- He decided to try his luck and went for Reliance Industries Ltd. He cleared the written test and the interview as well.
He managed to make it into his dream company when all other companies had rejected him!
Is IIT Jammu safe for students?
One of my friends has been living in Jammu for around 7 years and claims it to be one of the safest cities in India. Its reputation has been tainted because of its neighboring cities like Kashmir and Srinagar. Jammu has no links or influences of the violence that happens in these cities and the misleading media coverage makes people believe otherwise.
Jammu is a very safe city even for females as the crime rate is very low here. You can walk around the campus or city and will never feel in danger or unsafe. However, not everyone can fit into the monotonous and simple life here and might feel homesick. But as for safety issues, there are none!
How good is mechanical engineering at MNIT Jaipur?
The Mechanical Engineering Department of MNIT Jaipur is one of the oldest branches of the institute. It enjoys a good reputation and the cutoffs are also high. Students of this branch are actively involved in various technical clubs and Societies like Zine(Robotics Club), BAJA SAE, and CAE. These societies provide a good platform to work on projects and also participate in many national competitions.
The Mechanical Engineering branch students of MNIT Jaipur have represented the college Internationally and also won many national-level competitions. It has also churned out many GATE toppers.
The placement scenario of the Mechanical branch is decent although no official data is released by the institute. Based on the information I got from a friend who is currently pursuing this course, the majority of the students get placed.
- The average package is INR 8 LPA
- PSUs offer placements for which eligibility is an 8+ CGPA
- Internships are available at good companies like Flipkart and Amazon. Students can do internships in their 3rd year and get placed in their 4th year.
The Mechanical Engineering Department is rightly called the Golden Branch Of MNIT Jaipur.
