How is XLRI?
XLRI's Jamshedpur campus is a verdant oasis, complete with sports fields and facilities for games like cricket, football, basketball, and badminton. There are two entrances to the campus, one near Marine Drive and another near the Circuit House Area. A massive Tata auditorium, with enough room for 1500 people, can be found on the other side of the playgrounds.
XLRI offers two two-year full-time programme on Business Management and another in Human Resource Management.
XLRI offers 25 committees for extracurricular, co-curricular, and functional activity outside its core five courses. They devote a lot of time and energy to things like sports (with devoted coaches), theater, debate, etc. Bodhi Tree, an XLRI student band, is one of India's most well-known bands and has regular jam sessions. On Sundays, certain organisations prioritize CSR initiatives.

Is ITM Navi Mumbai worth a loan?
No, I don't think ITM Mumbai is worth taking a loan. The high fees do not do justice to the meager packages received by the students. Despite recording 100% placements, the average is as low as INR 8.5 LPA. It’s better to go for an average institute with low fees. The low packages you will receive will be worth the low fees you invested.
IMT Navi Mumbai placement cell ensures placements but does not guarantee a good ROI. So the best way is to look for an institute that charges low fees and gives enough ROI. Only then it will be worth a loan.
How was your SCMHRD BA interview experience?
My interview process started with registration and submission of the SNAP C form, followed by the written ability test (WAT). The technical WAT had questions related to probability, statistics, histogram, coefficient correlation ratio, and pseudo code. The WAT section had two topics, one related to 'business acumen dependent on data analytics,' and the other involving the creation of a story by connecting two given images.
After the WAT section, the interview process moved on to group discussion (GD) and group exercise (GE). The GD topic was whether technology would replace teachers in the future, and the GE task involved forming a political party with given Bollywood stars.
The personal interview (PI) consisted of questions related to my academic and professional background, technical skills in Java programming and SQL queries, conflict management skills, and problem-solving abilities. The interviewers also presented a hypothetical scenario where I had to suggest arguments to the CEO for hiring a Business Analyst despite the cost-cutting measures. Additionally, I was asked to draw a graph that compares revenue and vs financial success.
Are the new IITs such as IIT Patna good for a secure future?
Yes, the new IITs like Goa, Patna, etc provide good future prospects. However, you would like to consider these points.
- Don’t go for the new IITs that don't operate from their permanent campuses as infrastructure and facilities play an important role in enhancing your academic environment.
- You will face lesser competition in the new IITs during placements and the companies visiting are almost similar to the old IITs. Thus new IITs increase your chances of making it into a good company.
- Old IITs enjoy a good prestige and thus have better ties with foreign universities thus making it easy to get LORs to do foreign internships or higher studies.
- Old IITs are better for girls because the rules in new IITs are not well established and are in the developing stage so girls usually face a lot of restrictions here.

What is the difference between AKTU and UPSEE?
AKTU is a public university under the umbrella of Uttar Pradesh government. It comprises more than 800 colleges and is among the largest technical universities in Asia.
Whereas UPSEE or Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination is a state level entrance examination. This exam opens gates for admission at government aided as well as private unaided institutes that are affiliated to UPTU.

Does BIT Mesra provide exposure to MBA students?
BIT Mesra is a high-regarded institute of engineering well known for its BTech courses in various branches. The institute's ambiance and curriculum are more steered towards engineering and all the other departments are meant for earning money only.
Sadly, BIT Mesra lacks the infrastructure and resources conducive to an MBA program. The recruiters are well aware of this situation and thus rarely do they come here for placements. For a better MBA program, the institute needs to work on personality development and provide better networking.
You will be surprised to know that last year, 7 MBA students at BIT Mesra received only 1 placement offer. So think twice before choosing BIT Mesra for an MBA.
Are undergraduate students from BITS Pilani sent to foreign universities like IITs?
If you are an undergraduate student at BITS Pilani who is interested in studying abroad, it is important to understand that not all universities offer this opportunity to their students. Even IITs, which are known for their international research collaborations, do not send all undergraduate students abroad. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
- Research scholarships like DAAD and MITACS are available for IIT and BITS Pilani students who want to study abroad. These scholarships are highly selective and only a few students are selected each year.
- IIT students may have an advantage when it comes to research internships because of their "spam the professor" culture. Many IIT students send out mass emails to professors requesting research internships, which can result in multiple opportunities for those who are persistent.
- BITS Pilani has a different course structure than IITs, with a greater emphasis on all-around subjects and a cluster of core subjects in the third year. This means that students may not be eligible for research internships until after their fifth or sixth semester of study.
- BITS Pilani also requires a short, compulsory internship after the fourth semester (called Practice School 1) and a six-month to one-year industrial internship (known as Practice School 2) in the fourth year. This can limit the amount of time that students have available to pursue research internships.
While some students may have more opportunities than others when it comes to studying abroad or pursuing research internships, this should not discourage you from pursuing your goals. By focusing on your academic achievements, building your network, and taking advantage of the resources available to you, you can increase your chances of success and achieve your dreams of studying abroad.
How is AMET university for a GME course? Does Maersk recruit from AMET?
Academy of Maritime Education and Training is a private university academy set up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The college is recognized by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. The college is an AIU member and has been accredited grade ‘B’ by the NAAC.
The college offers Pre Sea Training for Graduate Mechanical Engineers as a one-year course. The fees for the course are 3.45 lakhs for the full period. The college offers both online and offline modes of admission.

Being a non-maths student, would I be able to cope with an IPM at IIM, Indore?
One of my cousins is a part of the institute, and since he belongs from a non-maths background, he was able to elaborate on the situation. Here is what he had to say.
The journey can undeniably be difficult for non-Math students but it is not impossible. There are other students, alongside my cousin, who is in the same situation but are still managing to do good as other students with a Maths background. They are securing more than average in most quantitative subjects.
You will need to put in extra effort to do well in quantitative subjects. But you can as well as any student from a Math background if you are willing to work hard.
Thus, it depends upon how you choose to prepare and strategize.
