How was your IIM Lucknow interview experience for batch 2020-22?
My cousin appeared for the interview of IIM Lucknow for the 2020-22 batch. He claimed that most of the aspirants were top-notch and had him lower his self-confidence. There were 7 panels in total.
- WAT round: The topic for WAT was GDP growth vs Human Development Index(HDI). He had prepared the topic while preparing for the interview so this round went pretty well.
- PI: The personal interview witnessed many heated arguments among the candidates and interviewers.
As soon as my cousin entered the room, he was asked for the file. He asked him why he chose IIM Lucknow over ISB. My cousin praised the institute saying it was parred with many great other B Schools. However, the interviewer did not seem satisfied so my cousin added that the IIM tag was inevitable. They enquired him about his current job and his interest. He said he was interested in operations or supply chain management. The interviewer asked him why he was not into consulting.
He further asked him about his dream job, hobbies, and other stuff. They asked me what other calls I have converted and preferred the most. Lastly, they asked him why he chose IIM Lucknow over Rohtak. After listening to his answer he complimented him for his honesty and asked him to leave the room. Luckily he was selected and got into IIM Lucknow.
How much time is needed to prepare for the IIM Indore entrance exam, i.e., IPM?
There is no need to prepare for IPMAT separately if you have studied Maths up to class 12. Just revise all concepts and formulas time and again. If you are worried about English, it should be pretty easy for you considering you read and write in it regularly.
You should be disciplined and have a plan of action. You will be able to complete the entire syllabus required for the exam within 30 to 40 days.
After that, think of focusing your attention on topics that are essential for students. For example, my sister was not fluent in her language skills and she was not on the same level as her peers. For this, she spent extra time working on developing those skills. She completed her language section and devoted the rest of her time to mathematics and solving sums.
You should definitely look at time management and seeing where you lack. Being a student from a mathematics background, you will not need private classes or even tutoring. Prepare well and in advance to go back and work on your weaknesses.
Which one should I prefer PG or hostel in Miranda House?
Sadly, Miranda House does not offer hostels to everyone save a selected few. They are provided on the basis of merit. So if the chance to stay in a hostel comes your way, make the most of it.
- The cost of living in the hostels is lower than that of living in PGs.
- The services the hostels provide are good.
- You will just be a few minutes away from your classes.
- The hostels are also close to the metro station and the market.
- However, if you don’t get a hostel, then there are a lot of PGs nearby such as Coho, Zocalo, Nestaway, etc.
- The PG rooms are well furnished with ACs.
- There are attached bathrooms with the facility of geysers.
- Cooks will prepare meals for you and there are also security guards in the premises 24/7 for safety.
- CCTV cameras are installed too.
Some PGs like Stanza Living organize events which help in the enhancement of career for making college life more interesting.
What are the mess charges at MNIT Allahabad?
The mess charges at MNNIT Allahabad may vary depending on the type of hostel and mess you are allotted to. Generally, the mess charges at MNNIT Allahabad are reasonable and affordable.

My sister too had to choose between IIT Mandi and another institute but chose IIT Mandi mainly because of its highly lenient branch change policy.

While the highest CTC of DTU might seem higher, it’s the average package that actually determines the placement scenario of an institute. Considering that IIT Mandi is better than DTU. In fact, Electrical in IIT Mandi is even then DTU. Secondly, DTU’s increasing batch size is another major concern these days. I personally think DTU is overhyped because of its NCR location. Considering the fact that Delhiites get a quota of 80% you can infer how diluted the talent pool of DTU is.
How is college life in IIT Kharagpur for girls?
The Boys to girls ratio at IIT Kharagpur is 12:1 and yet there are no discriminations. In fact, life for both genders here is very peaceful. You feel a sense of freedom at IIT Kharagpur. During the first year, there is a deadline of 10 pm but one can always go out for a genuine reason. After a few months, you can stroll through the campus even around 4 in the morning and there will be no restrictions.
When it comes to security, IIT Kharagpur has the best of it. You can find guards patrolling the campus around the clock. There is no specific dress code and you can wear anything you want provided that you attend the class in full pants only. The seniors are friendly and there is no ragging here.
There are a number of clubs and societies that promote extracurricular activities such as sports.
January witnessed the Spring Fest, a cultural Fest, and Kshitij, a technological-Management Fest. This is a very lively period and you can see the streets of the campus full of people, and can enjoy great performances in “Star-Nights”.
IIT KGP has 2 hostels for UG Female students
- Sarojini Naidu Hall of Residence
- Mother Teresa Hall of Residence
Both these hostels have a number of facilities like a Gym, Stores, Nescafe, and Night-Canteens. Hostel life is great as your wingmates become your family away from home and you end up making friends for life.
So, if you get into IIT Kharagpur, be prepared for a major change in your life.
How good is the NLU delhi? Is it worth dropping out of an Engineering college to join this place?
University of National Law, Delhi is a great college for the ones who are interested in a career in Law. If you want a career in Law and engineering that doesn’t excite you then you can definitely drop out a year. NLU is without a doubt worth leaving engineering college for. If you are genuinely interested in Law then, dropping out of engineering and joining NLU Delhi is definitely worth it.
Which college is better, CBIT, SRM or HITS (Hindustan University)?
I don't know much about CBIT and Hindustan University. But I won’t recommend you the NCR campus of SRM.
It is in fact not located in the National Capital Region. It is situated in Modinagar (Sikrikalan to be precise).The management of this college is very poor. You’ll be wasting a lot of energy for simple requests like getting statements attested, acquiring a recommendation letter, getting fee refunds, etc.
I studied CSE over there. The faculty for CSE is considered to be the best. However, in reality, most teachers don’t even have an idea of their specialization. You’ll find that the same teacher is taking classes for various specializations like Data Structures, Mobile Computing, Theory of Computation, Compiler, etc. New ideas aren’t encouraged in the classroom.
The hardware in CSE labs is top notch, but the software is all outdated. The hostels are decent but the mess food is disappointing. The hostel wardens do minimum to maintain discipline. For placements, you’ll have to travel all the way to Chennai, with no support from the management, and no accommodation facilities.
Thus, do not choose the NCR campus of SRM University, especially for the CSE program.
How is SIIB, Pune? How are the placements?
SIIB Pune has a good average of 100% placements. The small batch size is both an advantage and a disadvantage for it. Few things can definitely improve at the institute but overall SIIB, Pune is a good institute with decent placements.

There is no doubt that IILM, Greater Noida is an average B-School, but according to my friend's personal experience, the merits, and demerits of the college should be kept in mind that can help you to make your decisions wisely.
- IILM Greater Noida is one of the wonderful campuses with A+ residential hostels with private fully air-conditioned rooms.
- The students are given case studies from Harvard that will enhance and groom their existing skills.
- There is a complete one-month student exchange program organized by the college so that students can study and gain working experience in countries like Canada, Germany, Belgium, and France.
- During the placement drive, the students are allowed for at least 2-3 chances even if he/she gets placement in some prestigious company.

- Moving to demerits it can be said that the teaching faculty is not up to the mark, except for some.
- The management system is confusing to understand.
- There is a lack of opportunities for the students who want to be an entrepreneur and to start their innovative venture.
So you must get a glimpse of the college for an MBA. Though the college has the facility of providing comfortable accommodation, it lacks the main purpose for which students come here, including education, quality of faculty, opportunities offered to students, and placements.
