Which is better for mechanical: NIT Trichy or BITS Hyderabad?
The best way to compare the Mechanical branch of NIT Trichy and BITS Hyderabad is to go through the pros and cons of both institutes. NIT Trichy
Pros:
- NIT Trichy Placements 2022 recorded the highest package of INR 40 LPA. The Mechanical branch UG placement percentage stood at 90.8%. The UG batch achieved 90.9% placements whereas the PG batch achieved 92.9% placements.
- NIT Trichy's first-year fees stood at ?1.78 Lakhs which is pretty low compared to the high BITS Pilani fees.
Cons:
- The campus is located in a remote area and the climate here is terrible.
- The faculty pool has many inefficient professors who have no interest in teaching.
BITS Hyderabad
Pros
- It’s located in the IT hub of the country.
- The food here is better
Cons:
- Being a private institute, BITS Hyderabad has very high fees around ?5.72 Lakhs in the first year. 1st
- The placements for core placements are average.
In my opinion, NIT Trichy is a better option in terms of fees, and placements.
How can I prepare for the design aptitude test (DAT) and personal interview (PI) for admission to CPDM, IISc Bangalore?
DAT or the Design Aptitude Test has 2 parts DAT I and DAT II and the selection of the interview is done on the basis of the first one. DAT I like a CEED examination has no multiple-choice questions while DAT II covers basic electronics, engineering mechanics, and materials science. The mathematical problems will be such that students from any branch are able to solve them.
The final selection is done on the basis of the total score from the DAT and the PI. The acceptance ratio of CPDM is around 10% as about 200+ students sit for DST and only 20-25 students are selected. One of my friends got selected for the PI round and was asked the following questions
- Questions asked were meant to evaluate your approach to designing products or services.
- Design assignments were given that tested your approach to designing
- You will be questioned about your past experiences, academics, and your projects.
The best way to get selected is to present a unique idea while sounding genuine. Dont bluff as they are quick to catch and you will lose your chance.
How is IIT Patna Electrical Engineering?
The Electrical Engineering department of IIT Patna is well-regarded and is considered more rigorous than other branches. However, the opportunities provided are plentiful. Here are a few pros and cons of joining the institute.
Pros
- Being new it has excellent labs with modern instruments.
- The alumni are very helpful although the network is not that elaborate.
- The seniors are very cooperative here and are a blessing for the juniors.
- Some of the professors here reach you so well that you end up falling in love with the subject.
- IIT Patna EE average package is INR 24.85 LPA, the highest is INR 82.05 LPA and the median is INR 22.23 LPA. The placement scenario is great with around 83.56% placements.
Cons
- The number of PSU companies is very less.
- Jobs in core sectors are very less and more in software companies.
- One of the toughest and most challenging branches.
I think IIT Patna EE is a good choice given that you are interested in the branch.
How is the M.Tech CS program in IIT Kanpur? Do they take the same classes as a B.Tech student?
Both MTech and CS classes are conducted by the same professors in IIT Kanpur and even other IITs. The MTech program does not have a different faculty pool thus offering similar opportunities.
At IIT Kanpur, BTech and MTech students are given equal importance in terms of education, facilities, and job opportunities. The classrooms they are taught in, the hostel rooms, the library, and the sports faculty are all similar and no discrimination is done.
The placements too are at par with the BTech placements and similar packages are offered. Some of the most frequent recruiters include Microsoft, Google, SAP Labs, Intel, Qualcomm, Condensation, etc. The packages offered are in the range of INR 30- 44 LPA 35 LPA.
What is the integrated MSc in chemistry at IIT Kharagpur?
M.Sc Chemistry at IIT Kharagpur is a five-year integrated MSc course offered by the Department of chemistry.
In the first year, all the courses will be the same for all the departments. Out of these courses, only one is chemistry. Other courses are from other departments like Electrical, computer science, Mechanical, Physics, etc. Here, you are given a chance to explore at least one course from most of the departments. Based on your performance in first year (i.e CGPA) you can change your department (also called Depc). But for this, you need to get a CGPA of more than the cut-off CGPA of the department to which you want to change.
For instance suppose, Electrical Engineering department has a cut-off CGPA of 9.2 for DepC then you need to get a CGPA of more than 9.2 for DepC to Electrical.

Which program is better, PGP HRM at IIM Indore or PGPM at IIM Sambalpur?
A specific program at one IIM cannot be compared to a general program at another IIM.
In any case, you shouldn't think about enrolling in a course at IIM Sambalpur. It is too recent and has no prior performance. Additionally, given its location, it won't even draw in top faculty. Instead of IIM Sambalpur, you would be much better off attending some high-quality non-IIM colleges.
The best institute for HR professionals is currently XLRI, followed by TISS, Mumbai. Considering that IIMI is one of the top IIMs and has a brand-new HR program, your learning and employment prospects are both promising. However, make sure you enjoy HR. It is practically impossible to later switch out of HR once you are in it.
How is life at IIT Delhi? Is it tougher than the preparation days or easier?
Unlike everyone else, I think that life after joining IIT Delhi becomes more challenging than it was while preparing for JEE. Some reasons for the same are
- Your peers are mostly JEE toppers and you will find an unexplainable competitive tension among your batchmates as everyone is struggling to remain at the top. The relative grading system makes it difficult to score more than 7 CGPA while the cutoff for most companies is 8-9. This leads to immense pressure and competition sometimes with a negative impact.
- The hectic class schedule makes it impossible to spare time for extra activities like extracurricular activities, assignments, lab reports, and internship preparations.
- The overall routine is quite imbalanced considering the academic pressure at one end and huge parties and entertainment during your leisure time. There is no time to relax and complete your sleep.
- The students who target non-core jobs, focus less on academics and more on becoming dominant and attaining power. This creates a toxic political environment within the campus.
- The workload for the CS branch is exceptionally high with no time left for extracurricular activities. The huge number of assignments keeps the students holed in the library for hours and they become frustrated.
Life at IIT Delhi is fast-paced, packed with challenges, and very lively so know what you have signed up for before joining!
Which hostel is alloted to freshers at NIT Jamshedpur and how many people are allowed per room?
The recently constructed Mega Hostels are home to all freshers of NIT Jamshedpur. These hostels are the best as they have modern facilities, unlike the old hostels. The building is 6 stories with around 800 rooms, and every student gets a single occupancy room.
A typical room in NIT Jamshedpur Mega hostel has a balcony, two cupboards, a bed, a study table, a chair, a tube light, a bracket lamp, and a ceiling fan.

Hansraj College will be a better option for pursuing B.Com Hons. It has a better Commerce faculty. It is one of the top colleges on the DU North campus and offers great extracurricular. Reputed companies such as EY, Oyo, Deloitte, D.E. Shaw, etc. visit the campus placements. The average CTC received by the B.Com students is around INR 8-9 LPA.
Which one is better xime Bangalore or xime Kochi?
It is better for you to choose XIME Bangalore instead of Kochi. The campus at Kochi is comparatively strict with its rules and schedule. They only give importance to academics and do not encourage extracurricular activities. 100% attendance is mandatory here; taking one leave will lose your points and 5 to 6 lectures. So it is better not to opt for XIME Kochi for your studies
