As an alumnus of VNIT Nagpur, I will share some pros and cons of studying CSE from there. To know about the CSE at NIT Calicut and NIT Rourkela, you can consult the alumni from those institutions.

Pros of studying CSE at VNIT Nagpur-

1. The placements for CSE branch are excellent. The majority of students (around 75%) are placed within the initial months of the final year. Those who are not placed mostly have very low grades or backlogs (at most 10-15 students out of around 90).
2. The Alumni Internship allows 2nd and 3rd year students to intern at the companies of college alumni.
3. The CSE faculty is quite good and experienced. 
4. The coding culture is good with a coding club and monthly internal coding contests.
5. Visiting faculties from IT companies like Persistent and Infosys offers exposure to industry standards and the latest industry developments.
6. Lab work and assignments allow students to put their skills to practice. You will get ample time to publish research papers or work on your own projects as a CSE student over there.

Cons-

1. Summers are hot in Nagpur, especially during April and May. But the weather is fine for the rest of the year.
2. The college offers all the courses required for B.Tech. But some advanced elective courses like Computational Biology are not offered. However, such courses are not guaranteed to be offered by other NITs as well.

After looking into the various factors, make an informed choice for your CSE among VNIT Nagpur, NIT Calicut, and NIT Rourkela. VNIT Nagpur is a great choice for a CSE as per my personal experience.

I completed my B.Tech CS from NIT Rourkela, so I can only speak for my own college.

For placements, NIT Rourkela is probably behind the other two because of its locational disadvantage. The lack of good connectivity creates difficulty for IT/software firms to reach Rourkela during placement season. Despite that, last year, the average package for B.Tech CS was Rs. INR 21.87 LPA at NIT Rourkela. This is quite a decent figure.

Moreover, I can assure you of the excellent research and infrastructural facilities at NIT Rourkela. It is probably better than the other two in this regard, and can even be compared to NIT Trichy. A good number of students from the CS department get offered foreign research internships. Some of them even end up receiving an offer for higher studies from universities in the US and Europe. 

NIT Rourkela is a good option for B.Tech CS if you want to pursue higher studies, but it might not be the best in terms of placements.

My sister is not only an IIT KGP pass out but also has many friends in other IITs. So from her experience she does not regret choosing KGP over others and stated a number of reasons for the same

• The massive campus with beautiful infrastructure is enough to attract Engineering aspirants. You can never get enough of the campus and explore it completely.
• IIT KGP is located in a town that is almost nonexistent and thus the highlight is the campus itself. You get to develop strong bonds with your college, campus and make friends for life.
• The director himself is an alumni who has multiple accomplishments in the field of Academia before becoming a director. Owing to his own experience at IIT KGP, he has brought dynamism and liveliness to the campus. Under him, the Institute has flourished all the more.
• Everything digital aid be it movies, tv-series, documentaries, games, or video-lectures are available at the touch of a fingertip because of the excellent LAN facilities. This can be sought positively and used in the right way to bring out the best results as a student.
• KGP offers a variety of disciplines apart from Engineering like humanities, management, law and medicine. This helps them to interact with professors and students from other disciplines as well and adds to the overall learning experience.

These are some distinguishing features of IIT KGP that makes it a more viable option than other IITs.

Many students are confused while choosing their AIIMS College. AIIMS Raipur is usually ranked low in the list of 2012 implemented AIIMS.So firstI will address the misconceptions that l led to this conclusion:

• People think that the hostel is far from the campus. When in reality you will be staying in the residential complex. You can come to the campus easily via a bus. Also you will be free from the fear of seniors. Also after a year you will be given single rooms at the hostel itself.

• To have a look at its infrastructure, people refer to its old pictures which are misleading. The college and hostel are in fact massive and house thousands of students.

• There is a rumour that AIIMS Raipur campus is incomplete. In reality, a dental college is being constructed.

• People assume that since it’s located in Raipur, the crowd is also below average.

The only flaw is that the city needs development. All AIIMSs get equal funding and faculty distributed evenly. Yet AIIMS Raipur is underrated.

I would always recommend you to go for BITS Pilani EEE over IIT BHU Mechanical. Here are a few points justifying my stance.

Academics: BITS Pilani EEE curriculum is modern and as per industry standards. The branch has a highly qualified pool of professors who make use of modern teaching methodologies and conduct lively sessions. the number of top-tier MS in EE, the infrastructure, and top-notch placements all prove the same. The infrastructure at IIT BHU is deteriorating and the labs are equipped with obsolete instruments bringing down the academic quality of the institute.

Network: BITS has a very elaborate alumni network and gives an edge to IIT BHU.The BITS network (BITSAA) is very well organized and the close-knit nature of the BITSian community is rarely matched by IITs.

Brand: Society in general considers the IIT tag to be of superior quality whereas the recruiters and top universities are aware of the BITS influence and thus it enjoys an equally good brand name. Moreover, the IIT branch seems to have diluted with the increase in batch size and the opening of new IITs. The top recruiters know the difference between old and new IITs and thus the packages offered are different. BITS is known for its cutting-edge infrastructure and no-reservation policy.

Overall, BITS is the best option for you!
