Which college is better between SIRT and Oriental Bhopal?

DM
Debanjana Mondal Posted On : June 24th, 2021
B.E. Computer Science, Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal (2018)

Having friends in both institutions, I can say that, to decide on a college and to pursue a particular college and course in life, you need to have a proper understanding of your needs and wants. To understand this, answer these three questions:

  1. Need to pursue the Engineering
  • Engineering is a 4-year degree course.
  • Investing 4 years in a particular domain is a commitment. And so is sticking with it.
  • Pursuing another thing after engineering doesn't make any sense, then it would be a waste of 4 years.
  • So, first, decide whether engineering is the right choice for you or not.
  1. Jobs
  • If the job is the future, opt for any one of them.
  • These colleges have a good name and placements. They also welcome many reputed companies for their on-campus placement.
  • Oriental is better in terms of placement and infrastructure. It is one of the oldest colleges and has been completed for 21 years.
  • They also conduct many cultural and technical events. So opt for oriental.
  1. Higher Studies
  • If higher studies are your goal, then you should not go to any of these colleges as they need 75% attendance.
  • To pursue higher studies after engineering from a prominent college you need to study hard and cannot entertain the attendance criteria.

How is the life of a DASA student in NIT Warangal?

KS
Kalyan Shastri Posted On : August 19th, 2023
Lives in Warangal

You need not worry as an NRI or foreign national, you will be treated like any other student at NIT Warangal. One of my friends got into NITW through DASA and he felt no discrimination of any sort during his stay at the campus. As an NIT Warangal student, you will get equal opportunities irrespective of your background and the form of your admission. International hostels are provided with better facilities and International students are given single rooms from the first year itself.

Many DASA students are high achievers. There are 10 pointers, gold medalists, club general secretaries, and high package holders among international students as well. The college has very helpful seniors and you can also seek help from your peers. The teachers treat you according to your performance and your effort in their subject. Everyone is given equal opportunities regardless of their background.

Some teachers, however, might behave a little differently around international students and point at them at times.

Everyone at NIT Warangal participates in clubs and fests with equal zeal and there is a wonderful coordination among all the students.

Life at NIT Warangal is wonderful, it will teach you time management, responsibility, networking and building good relationships with your peers and seniors. You will learn to use the resources provided to you in the best possible manner. As a DASA student, you won’t face any uncomfortable situations or hard times during your stay at NITW.

What should I choose between SVNIT CS or DAIICT?

AR
Ajinkya Rane Posted On : May 28th, 2021
B.Tech from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (2019)

One of my friends secured an AIR (All India Rank) of 7,000 in JEE Main 2017 and obtained a seat in NIT Surat in CSE. It is a good option since the institute is well renowned. More than that, he also decided to visit DA-IICT, Gandhinagar.

Here is his experience of DA-IICT, Gandhinagar with better references -

  1. The professors are well experienced and have Ph.D. from reputed universities. Several faculty members received prestigious awards from being a secretary of IEEE to Padma Shri.
  2. The course curriculum of the institute is dynamic and specialized. It is updated from time to time, to keep industry-relevant.
  3. DA-IICT selects only about 350 candidates from the total number of students in B.Tech. They get selected for GSOC (which is, Google Summer of Code) every single year in large quarters.
  4. The coding culture of DA-IICT is equally accomplished as is in IIIT Hyderabad and IITs. There are several ACM-ICPC World Finalists from DA-IICT. Apparently, unlike other well-reputed universities, DA-IICT students are passionate about coding.

To support the answer, here is a table that distinguishes both of them,

Which law college should I choose, NLU, Guwahati or Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad?

VM
Vishakha Mehra Posted On : May 27th, 2021
studied at Institute of Law, Nirma University

If you are looking for a diverse crowd, you will probably not find that at these colleges. At Nirma University, you will mostly see students coming from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh in varying numbers. You will notice a similar situation for NLU Guwahati where most students Assamese and North Eastern in large numbers.

The point is that you will not feel a sense of belonging here if you don’t belong to these majority groups.

Nirma University - Winning Institute

  • In terms of curriculum, exposure, and faculty, Nirma is definitely one of the top private colleges that will match with and perhaps even exceed NLUs many times.
  • The institute is great when it comes to making connections and placements are good too. You will definitely be able to land a good law firm here. Some of these include Wadia, Gandhi, Amarchand, and Mindcrest.
  • NLU Guwahati also has similar placement statistics.

The following table shows the placement statistics for both law institutions:

Particulars

Nirma University

NLU Guwahati

Highest Package

14 LPA

12 LPA

Average Package

6.5 LPA

6 LPA

Top Recruiters

AmLegal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, etc.

Khaitan Co.,Sandersons & Morgans, etc.

It is important to keep in mind what you are looking for. Is it a good mooting platform or a good debating crowd? Are you also looking for placement opportunities or are you looking for people you will be able to get comfortable with? Will these people help you in the next five years of your life and beyond that?

Once you have the answers to these questions, you will definitely be able to make a choice. Choose wisely as you could have some of the best five years of your life depending on your decision.

What is better, IIIT Bangalore Integrated MTech or Electronics at NIT Bhopal?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : October 9th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

There is no ‘better’ college as one college might be better for you but not for someone else and vice versa. Moreover, every college has its own strengths and weaknesses and it depends on you what you are planning to overlook. It’s always advisable to do your own piece of research rather than depending on rumors and online stuff. Jot down the probable pros and cons of the institute

  • Cons:
The iMTech course offered by IIIT Bangalore is relatively new so might not be a good option.
  • IIIT Bangalore operates from a very small campus with limited facilities.
  • Being a new institute, its Club culture is also in its infancy. You might find no immediate seniors to discuss projects.

Pros

  • The exceptionally good faculty is one of the major reasons students prefer this college over other engineering colleges. Some professors are from prestigious foreign universities like MIT, University of California Berkeley, Cornell University, and Purdue University and also have strong industry links
  • The college boasts of well-placed alumni and companies like Yahoo, Amazon, Intuit, Flipkart, Morgan Stanley, Cisco, Siemens, etc. The MTech seniors play a big role in helping with projects.
  • The iMtech course is one of a kind and quite well-structured. It has suitable timings, courses accompanied by labs and projects, a flexible curriculum, and an internship at the end of the third year.
  • IIIT Bangalore has a rich coding culture and iMtech students can be seen participating in various hackathons and coding competitions

Ultimately, college matters but not to a great extent. What matters is how much effort you are willing to invest while studying.

What are the CAT sectional cutoffs for the PGDISEM course at NITIE Mumbai?

MC
Minal Chaturvedi Posted On : March 15th, 2023
Studied at NITIE

The Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM) program at NITIE Mumbai requires a valid CAT score for admission. The institute does not have any sectional cutoffs for the CAT exam for the PGDISEM program.

However, NITIE Mumbai considers the overall CAT percentile and the candidate's performance in the subsequent selection rounds, such as Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT), for admission to the PGDISEM program.

Candidates who score above the minimum CAT percentile as decided by the institute will be shortlisted for the selection rounds. The final admission decision is based on a candidate's overall performance in the CAT exam and the selection rounds.

It's important to note that the cutoffs and selection criteria may vary each year depending on the number of applicants and the performance of candidates in the selection rounds. Therefore, it's best to keep an eye on the official website of NITIE Mumbai for the latest updates on admission criteria and cutoffs for the PGDISEM program.

Why is IIM Ahmedabad the best?

SM
Sarthak Mehta Posted On : November 29th, 2022
Associate ( Business Leadership Program) at Colgate India

Looking broadly, there are five major parameters that distinguish IIM A as the best.

  • Quality of Intake: As the most sought-after B School, it attracts the most talented and passionate students. Good input results in good output. Peer learning is also more effective.

  • Incredible Faculty Members: It has had the best set of on-campus and visiting professors. Even guest speakers are the best in the business.

  • Infrastructure and Facilities: Because it has always been at the top, it has always had funds to invest in the best infrastructure. The fees are high, but there are government grants available.

  • Alumni Network: The best jobs are given to students. They will now want to return to their campus and recruit students. This aids in placements. Furthermore, these individuals guide junior batches, which means you are being guided by the best.

Finally, IIM A is a brand that has proven its worth. People are aware of it. These perceptions are difficult to overcome, so only a small number of people prefer Bangalore or Calcutta over Ahmedabad. A has an unrivaled sense of pride.

How is an MBA at Nalsar University?

JS
Janki Singh Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad (2018)

NALSAR University of Law is a law university in Hyderabad. It started offering a two-year MBA program in 2013 only. As this is a very new program in the institute, things are not in place completely yet. As some of my friends studied there, here’s what I got to know:

  • The faculty are busy setting up the academics and the placement process.
  • While the students are also concerned about the placements and thinking of ways to improve them.
  • This has led to a situation where there is very little discussion on improving the system, how to make students responsible for managing the college, etc.
  • However, as this is a new course, you will get plenty of time to indulge in your studies and you can even take your own initiatives which not only will help you but also the college.
Categories MBA at NALSAR University
Course Fee 6.11 lakh
Highest CTC 12 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA
Recruiting Companies S&P Global, Colgate, ITC, Jaro Education, etc.

If your sole intention is placements, then you should give this college a miss as it is still in its early phases.
