It all began with Aarambh. Then it just kept going. Classroom exercises, club and committee meetings, management summits, event planning activities, case discussions, last night studies, and sports activities are all part of the program. With so much going on, it's difficult to keep track of the tide.
There were both highs and lows. Those two years were a roller coaster ride of laughs, tears, sweat beads, hugs, and other emotions. It's amazing how a group of (almost) like-minded people transformed from friends to family.
Everyone played a role. Everyone contributed significantly to the batch's ecosystem in some way. Most importantly, everyone made life bearable. Those 20 months instilled in him a sense of responsibility for his job, family, and society as a whole. There were complications. There were disappointments. The journey was not easy. But it was a worthwhile journey, one that changed him for the better.
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at NIT Jalandhar?
Here are a few tips that will make your first year at NIT Jalandhar easier.
- Maintain at least 75% of attendance.
- CGPA matters. Most recruiting companies have a CGPA prerequisite. You will need a good academic record to apply for higher studies as well.
- First year is usually challenging for majority of students because they need to adapt to a whole new environment. You need to put in extra effort to stay updated with your studies while adopting.
- NIT Jalandhar has many clubs and societies. Joining these will help you explore your passion and hobbies.
Focus on building a network as well. Get to know your seniors, batchmates, and your teachers.
How do I prepare for IIM Indore (IPM) without coaching?
If answering questions is a habit for you, the NCERT book is sufficient. Be sure to read through each and every example. The quant portion would be more or less covered by that.
You can purchase a few competitive books by local authors for the logical reasoning, comprehension, and related section, which calls for time-bound critical thinking. As much as you can, speak English with your friends.
Keep in mind that the foundation must be solid. Try using your fundamental knowledge to step-by-step solve even the most challenging problems. The faculty is a mixed pool, some extremely good while some very inefficient. Most students prefer self-studying or seeking help from seniors rather than approaching professors.
The fees are a bit higher than government colleges like MAKAUT Main, Ceramic Tech, Kalyani Govt, etc. IEM first-year fees for the BTech program are ?1.78 Lakhs. The high fees do not translate to high-paying jobs here so the ROI will be very low.
Some other minor flaws are the lack of greenery and the uniform compulsion.
Here, everything depends on your skills and dedication. So adopt a positive mindset, and study well so that you can clear entrances like GATE, GRE, CAT, or GMAT. You cannot be solely dependent on college for shaping your career!

For a PGDM, BIMTECH, Greater Noida will be a better option. It offers better placement opportunities, especially for Finance and Marketing. BIMTECH placements 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 9.19 LPA. The highest international package offered this year was INR 24.67 LPA.
The course curriculum followed by the institute is well-designed according to the current industry practices. BIMTECH has an excellent faculty pool. The faculty members are experts in their field and have years of industry experience. As a student of the institute, you will get good exposure and networking opportunities.

As you can see, for a general category candidate, the closing ranks did not go beyond 3000 in the previous year. However, for an SC/ST candidate, the closing ranks are more relaxed. Also, if you are from some other state, 50% seats are reserved for Keralite students.
During CUSAT spot allotment, you can get the seats that are left or not filled up. These seats are filled rank-wise. Speaking statistically, a lot of students who are above you rank-wise will show up during the spot allotment. So, your chances depend upon the number of candidates above you who show up on that day.
