How is the AI and DS engineering branch in VIT Pune?
I won’t suggest you opt for the AI and DS branch at VIT Pune at any cost. The professors of this branch lack industrial knowledge and practicality. The placement scenario is pathetic. It’s a decent option if all you want is a degree
VIT Pune CSE branch on the other hand offers excellent job opportunities with a very promising placement scenario. So, don’t choose the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science branch at VIT Pune.
Among Satyavati and PGDAV colleges, which is a better choice?
Both Satyavati and PGDAV colleges are good in their own way.
PGDAV College is a co-educational institution. It is known for its excellence in academics, sports and other extracurricular activities. It provides more opportunities, better environment and better faculties.
Satyawati college has earned its reputation as a centre of academic excellence. It has established its reputation in various fields. They have a good faculty. Though it cannot be compared with the best DU colleges, it has a reputation of its own.
What should my preference be for IIIT Vadodara, IIIT Surat, IIIT Sonepat, and IIIT Kurnool?
I have friends in all the aforementioned colleges and thus am writing this answer based on collective experiences only. From the reviews of their respective colleges, I arrived at the conclusion that IIIT Sonepat is the best option among all these.
IIIT Sonepat fairs are better than the aforementioned institutes in terms of infrastructure, placement fees, etc. Here are a few strong reasons to choose IIIT Sonepat
- Sonepat enjoys a good location advantage being located just half an hour away from Delhi.
- Located near DU IIT Delhi and other institutes, you can easily enjoy their fests.
- IIIT Sonepat is located in Delhi, the educational hub so it offers better coaching opportunities.
- IIIT Sonepat has an excellent growth rate in comparison to other IIIT's.
Moreover, judging by my friends' experiences, the preference order I can up with is
IIIT Sonepat>>>>IIIT Surat >IIIT Vadodara>IIIT Kurnool
How is placements condition in UIT RGPV Bhopal?
RGPV Bhopal placements are decent. Here are the recent placement highlights.

TCS Ninja, Hexaware, Infosys, etc. are among the major recruiters that hire through the campus drive. Branches such as CSE, and IT have a better placement record compared to the core branches. The number of core companies visiting the placement drive is very few.
How is NIT Jamshedpur for civil engineering in terms of placement?
B.Tech Civil students get good placement opportunities at decent core companies at NIT Jamshedpur. A good number of non core companies also visit the department for placements.
But by ‘good’ I do not mean very high packages that you can boast of. If this is what you are looking for, you’ll be disappointed. Core branches like Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy and Civil receive decent placements. One can expect very high packages in these branches when studying at top rated institutes like the old IITs and BITS Pilani.
L&T, St.Gobain, Bridge and Roof Corp, Vedanta and ECC offer decent packages to B.Tech Civil students. Most analytics firms allow Civil students to sit for placements, and offer decent packages as well. Capgemini is among the IT firms which allow Civil students, and offer decent packages. BPCL offers comparatively high packages, but allows only top 5 students to apply. JUSCO visits every 2-3 years and offers high packages.
Last year, 97.29% students were successfully placed from B.Tech Civil during NIT Jamshedpur placements. The highest package for the branch was 20 LPA, and the average package was 9.57 LPA.
Instead of just looking at the placement stats, you should also consider your interests and the future prospects of a branch before stepping into it.
Is IIEST Shibpur better than NIT Trichy?
IIEST Shibpur might have the edge over NIT Trichy in terms of research. However, the same cannot be said with certainty in terms of academics. In case of academics, NIT Trichy may be ahead of IIEST Shibpur.
In terms of placements, NIT Trichy is way ahead of IIEST Shibpur. It also gets the upper hand in case of the students. As the research in NIT Trichy is superior compared to IIEST Shibpur, the faculty of the former is also superior to the latter.
However, IIEST Shibpur is often ranked in magazines like Outlook, Mint, EduRand owing to its research and other collaborations. BESU, even being a state government institute, was facing problems in its funding. After its conversion to IIEST, things took a turn for the better. It is the second oldest institute for engineering in the country and the alumni are also pretty renowned. In terms of infrastructure as well, NIT Trichy has the upper hand over IIEST Shibpur.
What will be the fee structure at PES University (including the hostel) through the KCET?
The fee structure at PES University depends on the category student is coming from. Those admitted through KCET are given a concession in the annual fee structure.

The hostel fee at the university is the same for every student irrespective of their category. It ranges from INR 1.2 Lacs. The facilities offered by the hostel include Mess, Wi-fi, Laundry and Hot Water.

Should I go for Metallurgy at NIT Raipur? How are the placements in the branch there?
NIT Raipur is a very good college and currently ranks at 67 in NIRF ranking among the top engineering institutes in India. And if you are a good student then maybe you can even get the CS branch as well.
Placements
- Various companies visited on campus for placements. In addition, the faculty will also train you to clear the aptitude test and focus mainly on the orientation of the students.
- The highest salary package offered was 7 lakh per year for metallurgy in software development, while the lowest was 4 lakh. So, on average, it went from 5 to 6 LPA, which is considered a decent package here in Raipur.
- Infosys, Wipro, and Trendence are the top recruiting companies. A total of 5 to 6 out of 50 students are placed in reputed companies of India.
However, if you want to pursue M.Tech in a good college, study well and sit for GATE instead. The department of Metallurgy is famous at NIT Raipur and can help you in getting good scores.
How is the life of a mediocre student in Mithibai college if S/he is not from Mumbai?
Life at Mithibai College is good. You will get to meet all kinds of people on campus. There is no ragging on campus. Most of the students are friendly. The management is cooperative. The infrastructure is great. Mithibai College organizes one of the great college fests in Mumbai. Overall, you will enjoy your time on campus.
How good is PDPU for liberal studies?
One of my friends studied at PDPU with Liberal Studies. His major was International Relations and Environmental Studies. So according to him, the School of Liberal Studies (SLS) is based on 3 pillars which are quintessential to any liberal arts school; Creativity, Critical Thinking and Articulation.
Over the course of the first 4 semesters, you have an opportunity to explore a wide range of 30 subjects spanning across the fields of Economics, International Relations, Psychology, Governance and Public Administration, Mathematics, Geography, English Literature, Food Geography, Environmental Law/Studies, Communication, Foreign Languages, Sciences, Theatre, Music, Art, Marketing and History. For the final two years, you have to pick a field to major in and a complementary minor.
He has been a recipient of 4 Research Travel Grants, his research include Agriculture, Food Politics, International Relations and Environmental Policy.
The management has supported him in his endeavors and the professors were very cooperative.

The School of Liberal Studies allows one to fully express themselves whether it is in academics, fine arts or sports. You can study everything from Political Philosophy of Ancient Greece to Food Policy in Rural India.
