Which university is good, Osmania or JNTU, for engineering in Hyderabad?

AS
Arindam Sen, Posted On : October 22nd, 2021
Studied B.E. Mechanical Engineering at Osmania University (2020)

One of my friends studied at Osmania University. According to him, Osmania University really helped him in learning engineering from scratch. Here are some reasons why it is his first choice.

  1. Less number of colleges: Osmania, unlike other universities, does not give affiliation to any random college, thus maintaining a standard. JNTU has hundreds of colleges under its wing, due to which the newly established ones lack quality.
  2. Fair Evaluation: Due to lesser colleges there are lesser students, which gives Osmania the advantage of evaluating exam papers precisely. Also if they are found incorrect the cost of reevaluation is less, INR 300. Whereas Reevaluation at JNTU costs INR 1000. JNTU was also infamous for its faulty correction.
  3. Projects: JNTU has students submit a mini project in 4-1 and a major project in 4-2. Whereas Osmania does not put much pressure on the students, as they have to pitch the idea of the project in 4-1 and submit it in 4-2.

It is widely known among every student and professionals that Osmania’s degree has more value than JNTU.

How can you get admission in Sathyabama University and Hindustan University?

SS
Shambhavi Sharma Posted On : September 16th, 2023
Lives in Chennai

As a B.Tech CSE student at Sathyabama University, I can tell you about my branch and my university.

I got in through management quota, the other way is entrance. I booked my seat before my 12th result by paying 50k and providing my 10th marksheet. For this, I visited the university in March after my public exam. After your 12th result, you can visit and confirm your seat. You’ll get in even with low marks in class 12th. The fee is around 2 Lakhs per year, but the infrastructure and other facilities are good.

Through entrance, you’ll need a rank below 3000. Still, it isn’t sure that you’ll get CSE. CSE seats are completely filled in the first counseling round itself. My friend acquired 1600 rank, but couldn’t get into CSE. Getting in through entrance is extremely difficult due to high competition. Take this route only if you are sure of ranking high in the exam.

This is how you can get into Sathyabama University for your CSE. I do not know about the admission process in Hindustan University.

How is placement in NIT Raipur for MCA?

AM
Aditya Mishra Posted On : September 9th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Raipur

The placement graph for MCA differs with each year. There’s a huge difference between the potential of MCA students and the job opportunities provided by NIT Raipur.

Only a handful of companies visiting NIT Raipur allow MCA students to sit for placements. The number is quite low in comparison with the MCA at other NITs. The eligibility criteria put up by companies for placements is 60% (and above) throughout your academic career (10th, 12th, grad and post grad).

After these multiple filtrations, a handful of students are selected on campus. In 2022 however, the figures were quite promising. Out of 70 eligible students, 65 were placed. AQ, GTS, Infosys, Polaris, Persistent, Oracle Finance and Amdocs are some companies that allow MCA students from this college to sit for placements.

Thus, the placements for MCA students at NIT Raipur are average at best.

What is the best preparation strategy for the JBIMS MSc finance interview?

AM
Aniket Mridha Posted On : February 28th, 2023
PGDM in Finance, Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (Graduated 2019)

If you have a non-finance background, it is recommended that you begin your preparation for the JBIMS MSc finance interview at least 4-5 months prior to your interview for the MSc Finance course. You must be sure about your interest in finance, as M.Sc Finance is a very core course. If you have a finance background, you are expected to have a deeper understanding of the points mentioned below. Along with knowing the "whats", you must also know the "whys". In terms of preparation, it is important for you to:

  • Be well-informed about the current market scenario and keep track of SENSEX, NIFTY, gold pricing, INR/USD, and oil pricing.
  • Have a good understanding of the current Indian economy, including its GDP, inflation, and the factors that impact it.
  • Stay updated with the RBI rates, including Repo, Reverse Repo, CRR, and SLR, and know their meanings.
  • Be aware of the current global scenario, such as Demonetisation, BREXIT, and Trump.
  • Consider the question "Why MSc Finance?" as the first and foremost point of focus in your preparation, even if you have a good academic background. You may still be asked why you chose MSc in Finance over an MBA or PGDM.
  • If you have work experience, you must be familiar with your work and its impact on business.

By being thorough with all of these above-mentioned points, you will be well-prepared for the MSc Finance interview.

Is anyone doing /did MCA from IGNOU while doing a job? How is/was your experience?

PR
Princeparth Rajpara Posted On : October 28th, 2022
Studied Education

One of my cousins completed an MCA from IGNOU while doing a job. She shared her experience with me. I have summarised it in points for better understanding:

  • The Degree Certificate of IGNOU MCA will enable you to appear for an interview

  • There are regular classes on weekends. But these classes are only on paper so you can skip them.

  • Students will have to approach self-study only

  • Projects are only formalities and have no real value

  • Institutes that run the MCA IGNOU program offer no help when it comes to getting a job.

  • There is no value of IGNOU MCA in Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc

Apart from this various advertisements in newspapers specifically mention that IGNOU candidates will not be able to apply. So I will not recommend that you complete an MCA from IGNOU.

RS
Raunak Srivastav Posted On : September 30th, 2021
B.Sc (H) Mathematics at Kirori Mal College,Delhi University (2018)

One of my friends is a student of Delhi University. So, I might be able to answer your question by sharing some of the facts about the college I got to know from him.

  • The elections are the first thing you will notice in college.
  • On the day of admittance, you will discover followers of presidential candidates helping you in your vote-gathering efforts.
  • If you want to have some tranquilly in your college life, I would advise you to avoid the elections.
  • After admissions, you’ll return to the campus for orientation.
  • The societies will begin accepting applications in a few days. Make an effort to participate in at least one.
  • Try to get into the hostel; as residential students have an advantage over day scholars.

The atmosphere at KMC is overall relaxed. Teachers are great, and there is a wide range of possibilities. The crowd is one of the best aspects about Kirori Mal College.

How is instrumentation and control in Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal?

KS
Kalyani Shankar Posted On : September 9th, 2023
Studied at Manipal Institute Of Technology

The Instrumentation and Control Engineering branch at MIT Manipal is a multifaceted branch dealing with various subjects related to Electrical, Electronics, and mechanical. Students are taught about sensors, transducers, electrical and mechanical instruments, microcontrollers, control systems, process automation, etc.

The branch is good and its labs are equipped with modern instruments. The faculty is decent and the placement scenario seems very promising.

One of my friends recently completed his BTech in instrumentation and control and gave me an active idea of the placement scenario of the branch. Out of the entire batch around 95% of students got placed. The highest package stood at INR 20 LPA and the average stood at INR 10 LPA while the lowest was recorded at INR 5 LPA. The star recruiters included Mercedes, Flipkart, Amazon, and Nvidia among many others.

Overall, this branch is great if you are interested in this field.

What is your review of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER)?

SV
Satyam Verma Posted On : June 2nd, 2021
Masters Degree Master of Computer Applications, Institute of Technical Education and Research (2016)

To decide if the college is worth taking admission or not, we should look at the various factors such as the courses offered, the placement opportunities, the quality of the education, the infrastructure/campus, and most importantly the library or the sources of research papers/ journals.

  • ITER is well known for the education it provides, one of my brothers did his post-graduation in CA from ITER. As he was a bright student, he was awarded an INR 50,000 scholarship from the university.
  • The university provides scholarships to students who keep a score of 8 CGPA or more throughout their academics.
  • The faculty is quite friendly and understands students well, however, there have been cases where professors were biased towards the hard-working students.
  • Attendance is compulsory, if not then you can face difficulty clearing your semester exams.
  • The campus has a very good library with hundreds and thousands of research papers, last year’s papers, and journals.
  • The canteen isn’t that good as there is no place to sit and eat.

If you want to graduate from the university without any interruption of backlogs then you need to fulfill all the requirements mentioned below:

  • Don’t bunk the classes. Try to fulfill the required percentage of attendance.
  • Attending classes and practicals, and making proper notes.
  • Submit the assignments and projects on time.
  • Try to come under the good books of the professors.
  • Constantly ask doubts and show your presence in the classroom.

Talking about the ITER placement 2020, a total of 104 companies visited the campus and appointed 2264 students with INR 31 Lakh as the highest package and average was INR 6 Lakh.

I believe that this is a good college for taking admissions in whichever course you want.
