What should I do? I am confused on where I should take admission in Gujrat. Should I choose Nirma University, L.D. College or Dharmsinh Desai University? Which branch, CE or IT?

DR
Deboleena Roy Posted On : January 20th, 2021
Computer Engineering from Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (2020)

Among the above institutes, an aid seat of Dharmsinh Desai University in CE would be the best option.

The following table gives the order of preference that a candidate should choose among the list of selected institutes.

Preference

Institute

Department

1

Dharmsinh Desai University

CE (aid seat)

2

Nirma University

CSE

3

Dharmsinh Desai University

CE (self-financed)

4

Dharmsinh Desai University

IT

5

L.D. College

CE or IT

Highlights supporting the above order of preference are discussed below.

  • CE is preferred over IT because CE (or CSE) contains more subjects, especially hardware and electronics papers. Also, placements in CE are better than IT, in most institutes.
  • Dharmsinh Desai University has a better faculty and teaching curriculum than Nirma University. A DIA (aid seat) in DDU has minimal fees too, so it is advised to choose first.
  • If you want to go for future studies in India or abroad, DDU and LD would be the better option.
  • In terms of placement and exposure, NIRMA leads in most cases among the above three. So, if you are just interested in placement, NIRMA is the better choice.

Overall Dharmsinh Desai University has the maximum advantages.

Should I opt for IIIT Guwahati CSE or should I take mechanical at DTU. I am a Delhite, but CSE is my preference. I have 19,557 rank on the JEE Main?

AS
Acharya Sharma Posted On : May 2nd, 2021
Studied at Delhi Technological University (2019)

If you like CSE, then you should take it without any doubt. But before making such a big decision, it is important to know the aspects of both. Make sure to study about these branches and take advice from seniors.

  • Talk to the final year student of your preferred branch of both the colleges because they have all the knowledge about the real situation. They know about the final year projects and the placement scenarios.
  • It is also important to know if anyone in your preferred branch has done any innovative work. Don’t get misguided by talking to irrelevant people.
  • Make sure to get all this information from reliable sources.

It is a crucial phase, you should not hurry up. Instead, take time, know all the facts and then decide on what they want.

One of my friends has studied at DTU and according to her, the atmosphere is amazing there. Everything from Fests, seniors, college life, faculty, the crowd are way better than IIIT Guwahati. In terms of location too, DTU has the advantage of being situated in the centre of Delhi.

You should definitely choose Mechanical at DTU without a second thought. However, if you are worried about branches, then both branches are good.

SG
Sourav Goswami Posted On : April 30th, 2021

Well, one of my friends is studying at BIT Mesra and according to him, it is a very good college especially for CSE.

  • The teachers here are very good and experienced in their subjects. Professors like Arun Sir and Mustafi Sir are great and helps the students a lot in completing their projects. They are always ready to help anyone irrespective of their branch or year.
  • There are coding matches held every Saturday at the campus and many workshops are also conducted by ACM which turns out to be very profitable for the students. These are great interactive ways to learn and practice new things.
  • The placements are also amazing as top companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Practo, Coupon Dunia, Goldman Sachs, Snapdeal visit the campus for interviews, and offer packages more than 10 LPA.
  • Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs also hire interns from the CSE branch.

If you want to know about PEC Chandigarh, then ask someone who belongs to that college like a college alumnus or a student studying there. They can provide you genuine information about the college.

Choosing the right college for your undergraduate studies is an important decision and depends on several factors such as your academic interests, location, career goals, financial situation, campus culture, and more.

All three colleges you mentioned, IIIT Bhopal, PEC Chandigarh, and NIT Delhi, are reputable institutions for computer science and engineering (CSE) programs in India. Each college has its unique strengths and weaknesses, and it's up to you to evaluate them based on your preferences and priorities.

IIIT Bhopal:

IIIT Bhopal is a relatively new institution established in 2017, but it has quickly gained a good reputation for its CSE program. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in computer science, including programming, algorithms, data structures, database systems, computer networks, and more. Based on the above information, you may consider the following factors while making a decision:

  • Curriculum: Compare the CSE curriculum offered by each institute and see which one aligns better with your interests and career goals.
  • Faculty: Look into the qualifications, experience, and research interests of the CSE faculty at each institute and see if they match your expectations.
  • Infrastructure: Check out the facilities offered by each institute, such as computer labs, libraries, and other amenities, and see if they meet your requirements.
  • Location: Consider the location of each institute and see if it suits your preferences and convenience.
  • Campus culture: Research the campus culture of each institute, including extracurricular activities, student clubs, and events, and see if they align with your interests.

Ultimately, the decision to choose one of these colleges for CSE should be based on your priorities and preferences.

RA
Riya Aadarsh Posted On : September 18th, 2020

JUET is more popular than JUIT. However, one should not decide the best college based on popularity or ranking. There are also several factors such as fee, eligibility, placement criteria, etc which should be considered. The ranking for JUET and JUIT by NIRF is 86 and 151.

Both JUET and JUIT offer a BTech CSE program and the admission is through JEE Mains. The annual course fee for JUET is 2.04 lakhs and for JUIT it is 2.19 lakhs.

Placements:

JUET-

  • The highest and minimum salaries of the college are 41 LPA and 3.4 LPA.

  • More than 100 companies are visiting the campus for recruitment each year.

  • Companies visiting the campus more often are Amazon, Google, Trident, Interview Bit, Pixel Mind IT Solutions, Infosys, Tata Consultancies, Hitachi Consultancies, Central Research Laboratories, Accolite, Grade Up, One Direct, etc.

JUIT-

  • The highest and minimum salaries of the students at this college are 28 LPA and 4 LPA.

  • The companies visiting the campus are Samsung, Click Labs, BYJU’S, fico, Smart Cube, Yamaha Motors, Ultra Tech Cement, Wipro, Infosys, L & T, Indian Mart, TT Consultancies, Extra Marks, Real-time Data Services, Sab Labs, Root Analysis, etc.

Should I take CS at Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune or IT Mathematical Innovation at CIC?

NV
Nishant Verma Posted On : February 17th, 2021
Studies at Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune, 2021

One of my friends is studying at Cluster Innovation Centre and he has shared his experience about the institute. The following points are based on his experience only:

  1. Academics: A total of 256 credits will be there in your degree. The course is not the same as other colleges. You will have subjects Data Structures, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Algorithm Design, and many others. In the second semester, there will be choices given to select your major subject among Electronics and Embedded Systems, Management and Economics, Computational Biology.
  2. Faculty: The faculty is very good in terms of experienced teachers especially for mathematics but the newly appointed teachers are average like the one in the Computer Department.
  3. Fees: The fee structure is very low as compared to the other colleges in India. It is as minimal as INR 5000 per semester that counts up to a total of INR 40000 for your degree. Also, the hostel room including mess will hardly cost you INR 4000-5000.
  4. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is decent with the installations of Wi-Fi in all the rooms. They also have projectors and an air-conditioned center. The college is located near the ground which was also used in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The college also provides the facility of Gym, Table Tennis, and Badminton at the cost of INR 250 per month. It also has a library accessible for the student of CIC.
  5. Exposure: The Institute is well connected with the other colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, Hindu, and many others. It is easy to get exposure and attending their events is actually a great deal. CIC is not highly active in cultural events and clubs.
  6. Crowd: CIC is a central university and is very crowded. It is surrounded by students from all over India.
  7. Placements: It is definitely not a strong part of CIC as they don’t have their own Training and Placement cell and they focus more on start-ups for which they also provide funds up to 8 lakhs. In terms, of placement, the alumni of the college will be of great help, and also the students get PPO in their internships. CIC provides 4 internships in their curriculum.

Whether you want to join it or not, it totally depends upon you. As per my friends’ experience, he had a hectic curriculum during his course. But it came out to be one of his top choices. The quality of students is great at the institute and it is increasing with every batch.
