Generally, the only competitors of NITs will be IITs or other NITs. However, NIT Srinagar is not the most reputed NIT & IET Lucknow is a worthy competitor. Both of these are great colleges to pursue a course in CSE.
Admission & Eligibility:
Admission to NIT Srinagar is through JEE main. Eligibility is a pass with a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 exams with maths, physics & chemistry.
Admission to IET Lucknow is through UPSEE. Eligibility is a pass in 10+2 exams with maths, physics & chemistry.
Fee Structure:
The first-year fee at NIT Srinagar amounts to INR 1.36 lakhs in total and the total fee for 4 years amounts to INR 5.46 lakhs. Hostel fees are extra.
The total first-year fee that includes tuition, exam fees, and other fees amount to INR 89,775 at IET Lucknow. The total fee for 4 years comes at INR 3.44 lakhs.
Infrastructure:
IET Lucknow has a fully equipped and air-conditioned computer centre with high-speed internet. Other facilities include separate hostels for girls and boys, a gym, a medical facility, and a bank inside the campus.
NIT Srinagar, apart from being a scenic place, also has very good infrastructure for CSE students. Other facilities include separate hostels for girls and boys, a sports centre, and a healthcare facility inside the campus.

IET Lucknow:
More than 70 companies visited IET Lucknow this year to offer placement to students.
The highest number of students that got placed was from the CSE department.
IET Lucknow students get campus placement opportunities from Adobe, TCS, India Bulls, LAVA, Syntel, Anglo-Eastern, Global Logic, Zia Semiconductor
The highest CTC package offered was to a CSE student by Byju’s (INR 14 LPA).
The average CTC offered this year was around INR 7 LPA.
NIT Srinagar:
NIT Srinagar CSE students usually receive almost 100% placement.
Major IT companies visit the campus every year to recruit top CSE student talents.
Some of the famous recruiters are Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, Oracle, Capgemini, Oxigen, Pinnacle, HP, etc.
The average annual CTC offered is around INR 9 LPA.
The highest CTC offered was around INR 17 LPA.
The infrastructure and placement rates are very good at either of these colleges. The fees are slightly higher in NIT Srinagar. But the final decision must be taken according to the interest of the student.
XLRI has been accredited by AMBA, AACSB, NBA and has been approved by AICTE. It has been ranked 9th by NIRF in the category Top B-Schools in India. The institute has tied up with various international universities for exchange programs.

For B.Tech courses VIT has been ranked #15-300 in India for the year 2020 by NIRF rankings. In Tamil Nadu, the university was ranked #4th for courses in B.Tech. On the other hand, Manipal University was ranked #8-200 for top universities in India by NIRF rankings in the year 2020.
Admissions
Manipal University, Manipal:
Completed his/ her 10+2 grade or equivalent from a recognized board With Physics, Mathematics, and English as the compulsory subjects with 50% marks.
The candidate taking admission should also qualify the Manipal Entrance Test (MET)- 2020.
3.35 Lakhs is the total fee for the CSE course in the 1st year.
VIT Vellore:
The candidate must have completed 10+2 with PCM or PCB as the subjects.
Minimum 60% marks should be obtained by the aspirant in 10+2.
The selections are done on the basis of counseling and marks obtained in the entrance texts i.e., VITEEE.
The total course fee for ECE in VIT is 1.98 Lakhs.

Manipal University, Manipal:
6.2 Lakhs was the median salary offered to CSE students in the University.
Top recruiting companies in Manipal are Forbes Marshall, Mercedes Benz, Hyundai, Cipla, Hero Moto Corp, Maruti Suzuki, INFOYSIS, Intel, etc.
VIT Vellore:
713+ companies visited the campus with a total of 705 dream offers.
The highest package offered was 41.60 LPA and 6.05 LPA was the average salary offered.
Microsoft, Philips, HP, TCS, Wipro, Intel, Bank of America, Infosys, Deloitte, and Bosch among many others are top recruiters of the University.
Campus
Manipal University, Manipal:
The campus is about 313 acres in the area.
Hospital facilities, sports facilities, and innovative centers are available for students, Wi-Fi facility is available everywhere across the campus, restaurants, libraries, hostel, labs, etc. are some of the facilities available on-campus.
VIT Vellore:
The campus size is about 250 acres.
Clubs, library, sports facilities, hostel, health services, transport facilities, pollution friendly management projects such as liquid waste management, solid waste management, solar power, wind power, etc. are some of the facilities and activities going on in the campus.
If the subject is not the priority then VIT is a lot ahead of Manipal as it provides excellent placements and living environment to the students. But it all depends on the choice and interests of the aspirant seeking admissions.
IIT Tirupati and BITS Goa offer BTech program in CSE. Both the institutes are reputed and offer decent academics and placement opportunities for CSE students.
IIT Tirupati-
IIT Tirupati has been ranked 24 for Engineering by JEE cutoff 2019.
Admissions:
Applicants must have 75% total aggregate in class 12th in PCM.
The admissions in BTech is done by JEE mains and JEE advanced scores.
The opening-closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering is 2741-3367 for males and 4568-5557 for females. The applicants are allocated based on the JoSAA Counselling.
The grand total fees for completing a Bachelor's degree in CSE is around 3 lacs.
Placement:
The maximum placement was registered from CSE.
The highest placement offered at IIT Tirupati is 25 LPA and the average package offered at IIT Tirupati is 9 LPA for CSE.
The average package of CSE was 12 LPA.
The top recruiters were Honeywell, TCS, Bosch, Versa network, ZS associates, etc.
BITS Goa-
Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Goa (BITS-Goa) is a renowned technical and science educational field located in Southern Goa.
Admissions:
There are two criteria to be eligible for admissions to the B.E. program at BITS Goa- BITSAT and Direct Admission.
The students should have passed 10+2 from a recognized State or Central Board with a minimum of 75% in PCM. State Board Toppers are offered direct admissions.
The grand total fees for completing a Bachelor's degree in CSE is around 14 lacs.
Placement:
The highest placement offered at BITS Goa is 44 LPA and the average package offered at BITS Goa is 7 LPA for CSE.
The average package of CSE was 16 LPA.
The top recruiters were Dell, DE Shaw, Flipkart, Samsung, Reliance, IBM, etc.
Both BITS Goa and IIT Tirupati are good Engineering colleges. In the term of placements, BITS Goa provides better opportunities. On the other hand, in the terms of course fees, IIT Tirupati is more affordable.
MAIT is ranked 41st for BTech engineering by India Today, and Jamia is ranked 28th for engineering by the NIRF in 2020. The total seats for CSE in MAIT are 240 and Mechanical in Jamia has 70 seats. The yearly tuition fee at MAIT is 1.15 lakhs and Jamia is INR 12,000.
Admission:
Candidates need to sit for the JEE Main examination for entrance into any of the colleges.
For MAIT, students need to go through the GGSIPU counseling, and for Jamia, students need to go through the JMI Delhi counseling.

MAIT:
At MAIT, the student to faculty ratio is around 70:1.
The library is massive, having access to hundreds of volumes and papers.
There are five canteens on campus, and the college has several sports facilities, including an indoor badminton court.
JMI:
The mechanical department at Jamia has its library and well-equipped labs.
The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Medical facilities are available 24*7.
Each department organizes sports week, and the mechanical department also has separate canteens.
Although in terms of placements and infrastructure both the colleges are on par, there is a factor of affordability. Jamia has one of the lowest tuition fees in Delhi. However, the decision depends on the students who need to take everything from academics to cultural aspects of the colleges into consideration.

So, IIITM Gwalior is the definite choice among the three IIITs mentioned, considering the overall facilities, placement, and infrastructure.
JU ranks as one of the top 10 universities in India and is furthermore the second-best engineering institute in Eastern India after IIT KGP, of course. Hence it should be your top preference.
Jadavpur University is quite underrated. It belongs to the same league as NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal. the league. The main challenge here is that all the seats get occupied by the WBJEE graders which is a high percentile of WB board graduates. Students from across the country don’t get much of a chance to get admission there.
