NIT Warangal is ranked 46 overall and 19 for BTech by NIRF 2020. They have a faculty strength of 302 members and a student population of 5010.

NIT Manipur ranks 158th for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is an autonomous institute recognized by UGC and AICTE. It has a faculty strength of 72 members, 40 of them being PhD holders.

Biotechnology in NIT Warangal and CSE in NIT Manipur both are full time courses for a duration of 4 years.

Admission Details 

• Applicants should have at least 75% in their 10+2 qualifying exams with PCM with a valid score in JEE Main.
• For MTech applicants 60% in BTech or BE is required with a valid score in GATE.

NIT Manipur

• 20 companies visited the campus and 50 students were placed.

NIT Manipur

• The campus is more than 300 acres.

Both the NITs are equally good. Though due to the rapidly growing corporate industry there is a huge demand for computer engineers or CSE graduates. It is considered the most preferred engineering course among others. Biotechnology unlike CSE does not have the same amount of popularity among students as well as professionals. But ultimately it depends on the students and their preferences.

CSE at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management develops a strong foundation of theory and practical knowledge of computer science among the students. 

The institute provides many career opportunities with a supportive faculty of 20 members for CSE graduates. 

CSE is one of the oldest departments in the Saveetha Engineering College. The institute ranks 9th in Chennai by Outlook and consists of a total strength of 4349 students. More than 87 reputable MNCs offered the on-campus jobs in 2019-20.

Admission process:-

SRCOEM:-

• The applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks with Physics, Maths as compulsory subjects. 
• The students must have a valid score in JEE Main/MHT-CET.
• The course fee is INR 6.03 LPA. 
• The cutoff required in JEE Main is in the range of 487-822, and 153 in MHT-CET. 
• The intake is 60.

SPCE

• Admission to BTech/B.E is offered to the students who have pursued 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Applications are made through MHT-CET, and admissions are offered based on merit. 
• The total fees required is INR 1.70 LPA. 
• The cutoff required is 161.
• The seats allocated is 60.

SRCOEM consists of a training department organization that regularly manages the placement of the students by maintaining above 80% placements. 

More than 95% of the students from SPCE got placement in 2019. The average salary offered in 2019 was 5% more than the previous year.

The top recruiters are Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Mindtree, TCS, BlueStar, Polaris, TVS Motors, Bosch, Mphasis, TCS, Sutherland, etc. 

Faculty:- 

The faculties of all these colleges are excellent and most of them are having PhD degrees. They always solve the problem of the students in every aspect and helps the students for the campus interviews.

Facilities: 

• The colleges have a spacious library that is subscribed to national and international journals.
• The security of the campus is provided by Security and Intelligence Services Ltd. 
• The cafeteria of the colleges caters to the eatables of the students. 

Both Ramdeobaba and Sardar Patel are one of the best colleges. The students have a great life, and they can learn lots of things. The campus and the faculties are also right, and the students get the desired support in terms of placements. 

So it entirely depends on the students’ decision which college they would want to opt for among these two.

According to the NIRF Ranking, 2020 IIITM Gwalior and DTU are ranked at 100 and 36 for Engineering. Both IIITM Gwalior and DTU offer BTech programs for CS and IT.

Admission:

IIITM Gwalior-

• In order to get admitted to the B.Tech Program at IIITM Gwalior, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 75%.

• The selection procedure is based on the Entrance Exam Results of JEE Main.

• The closing cutoff for CS in 2019 was 7536-9403.

DTU IT-

• In order to get admitted to the B.Tech Program at DTU, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 60% as an aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English from a recognized board.

• JEE Main score is accepted for admission.

• In 2019 the required cutoff for IT was 13679.

• The average salary package of a graduate from IIITM Gwalior ranges around 14 LPA.

DTU-

• The placement and internship opportunities at DTU are offered by the top recruiters from Outlook, Microsoft, EY, Morgan Stanley, Google, Goldman Sachs, Tata, etc.

• The average salary package of a graduate from DTU ranges around 6.5 LPA.

Getting admitted to either one of the colleges, be it IIITM Gwalior or DTU has its own advantages and opportunities. However, in terms of location, alumni base, rankings, etc DTU has an edge over IIITM Gwalior.

VIT Bhopal is the 16th best engineering institute of India as per NIRF ranking. VIT provides many scopes for CSE and provides 90% placements. 

UIT RGPV Bhopal provides one of the best infrastructure and good placements for CSE. The institute ranks 102nd and offers attractive job opportunities of 95% placements every year.

VIT Bhopal:-

• The candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 
• The final selection is based on the scores obtained in VITEEE conducted by Bhopal University.
• The cutoff required is a closing rank of 15000.
• The course fee required is INR 1.98 LPA. 
• The total seats allocated for the course is 60.

UIT RGPV:-

• A minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics as primary subjects. 
• JEE Main is necessary for BTech admission. 
• The cutoff required is 32781 - 73847.
• The program fee required is INR 23,920.
• The institute houses a total intake of 120 students. 

Placements:-

The placements offered by VIT Bhopal is excellent as the institute always maintains above 90% placement in every year. Cognizant offered the highest package of INR 42 LPA in 2019.

UIT RGPV organizes both on and off campus for the students where the average salary offered to the students is INR 3.5 LPA.

Both UIT RGPV and VIT colleges are the best for pursuing the CSE course. UIT RGPV is a state government college, and VIT is a private college with quality and experienced faculty members. Further, after pursuing CSE from both these colleges, there are excellent prospects.

Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore is a private institute which is a deemed university. It has been ranked as the number 1 private engineering and technology university in India based on its track records and educational standards.

Institute of Chemical Technology has received an A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It has been claimed to be the 18th best institute for Engineering by NIRF rankings.

Courses:

• The Computer science course at VIT provides insights into computer applications, programming languages, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, and a number of other related fields. It involves intensive course work and projects throughout the 4 years of course duration.

• Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai provides a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Master of Chemical Engineering.

Admissions:

• VIT is relatively flexible with its admission criteria. It considers a number of exams like VITEEE, JEE mains, and SAT for admission to undergraduate courses.

• ICT, Mumbai provides the provision for online as well as offline admission. B.tech admissions are done on the basis of MHT CET or JEE mains score. M.Tech admissions are conducted on the basis of GATE score or other relevant scores.

VIT, Vellore:

• It is famous for its large and sprawling campus. It has a number of institute buildings, hostel buildings, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and curated labs for research.

It is the most successful private engineering university in providing placements to its students.

• Over 90% of students get placed in one of the top companies of India including Amazon, Flipkart, Accenture, IBM, Asian Paints, TCS, Hindustan Unilever, etc.

• The highest salary package goes up to 60 LPA while the average salary packages are around 5-6 LPA.

ICT Mumbai:

• It has a placement record of 90% placements.

• Major employers include BPCL, Pidilite industries, Johnson & Johnson, TATA Power, Nerolac, etc.

• The highest package offered was 18 LPA with the average being 5 LPA.

Thus it completely depends on the students which institute they want to choose for their studies.

PEC is one of the pioneer engineering colleges in Punjab and ranks 68 among the top engineering colleges per NIRF ranking 2020. It maintains a standard placement record of 80% by providing jobs in top quality MNCs. 

UIET Chandigarh ranks 54 among the private engineering colleges by NIRF ranking and maintains a placement record of 80%. 

Admission Process 

PEC Chandigarh:-

• The minimum marks required is 75% marks in 10+2 along with a valid score in JEE Main.
• The seats for electrical engineering are 48. 
• The course fee is INR 3.45 LPA.
• The cutoff required in JEE Main is in the range of 12781-17622.

UIET Chandigarh:-

• The admission is based on the valid score of 75% marks in 10+2 with JEE Main. 
• The course fee is INR 3.25 LPA.
• The seats for CSE in UIET Chandigarh are 40.
• The cutoff required in JEE Main is in the range of 24265-35348.

Placements:-

The placements in both these colleges are good and many of the companies offer handsome packages to the students every year. The average package offered by the institutes is 5% more than last year. 

The top recruiters are IBM, Samsung, Tata, Microsoft, Deloitte, Infosys, Amazon, KPMG, Accenture, Wipro, etc.

Facilities:

• The central library of PEC Chandigarh has a collection of 1 lakh volumes of books and research papers. 
• There are six hostels in the campus, four of them are for boys and two for girls. 
• A 120 capacity of air-conditioned hall in UIET Chandigarh for holding presentations and interactive sessions.
• The university library of UIET Chandigarh has an inflibnet network which allows them to connect through the digital facilities. 

PEC is a better option and has an excellent reputation than UIET Chandigarh. The placements at PEC are better than UIET Chandigarh. The average package offered every year for electrical and computer engineering is around INR 7-11 LPA, which is more than UIET Chandigarh. PEC Chandigarh is a better choice for pursuing electrical than UIET Chandigarh for CSE. 

However, both these colleges are some of the finest universities in the country with diverse cultures. Hence pursuing a course from any of these universities will land you into success.

Amongst the top universities, NIRF has ranked Bharati Vidyapeeth University 54th. For IT and CSE, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs.

The B.Tech admission is based on the entrance exam score (CET) which is conducted by the university and a valid score in JEE Mains or MHT CET for any seats remaining. For M.Tech, a valid score in GATE is required which is followed by counseling.

Information Technology
