VIIT, Pune offers a BTech, while Singhgad offers a BE program for CSE. VIIT, Pune is ranked 155 for BTech by NIRF. Whereas, Singhgad is ranked 138 for BTech by TOI 2020.

Faculty:

VIIT, Pune has more than 25 faculties for the CSE department and most of them have 10 years of experience in teaching as well as the research field. On the other hand, the department of CSE/IT Singhgad (Pune, Wadgaon) have more than 10 well-qualified teaching staff.

Infrastructure:

The Infrastructure of the CSE department of VIIT is really very good as compared to Singhgad. CSE department of VIIT has established industry-sponsored laboratories such as GSE-RER, ICC (Infosys campus connect), and CISCO networking academy by CISCO.

Admission process:

VIIT Pune and Singhgad follow the same admission process.

These two engineering colleges also require the common eligibility criteria for the students to take admission.

Eligibility- The students should have 60-65% marks in both 10th and +2 science with PCM for the general category and there is 5% relaxation in marks for reserved candidates.

Entrance score- The candidates who want to take B.Tech admission in VIIT and Singhad need to have a valid JEE- Main score and MHT-CET score. In 2019 the JEE Main closing cutoff for CSE at the institutes was 2648 (VIIT), Singhgad (5104).

The annual course fee for CSE at VIIT is 1.5 lakh and at Sinhgad it is 1.24 lakhs for the same.

Placements:

• As of 2019 in VIIT Pune, the highest CTC received by the students of CSE was 15 LPA and the lowest was 2.4 LPA.

• Singhgad also provides good placement for CSE students. In 2019 the highest and average CTC at the institute was 8 lakhs and 2.5 lakh.

The major recruiters at both of these institutes are Accenture, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, TCS, etc.

Both the institutes are well-reputed and offer decent CSE programs. So, choose the institute according to your convenience.

Both IIT Tirupati and IITPalakkad are government colleges and fall into the new generation of IITs and are yet to be ranked under NIRF.

IIT Tirupati and Palakkad- Both these campuses are under construction as of now and students have to stay in a transit campus. Hence, all facilities cannot be availed yet. Both these institutes are mentored under IIT Madras and the professors too guide the students on similar curriculum followed by IIT-M.

Both the colleges are good and offer a wide range of benefits. They are new and the first batch graduated just last year, hence placements and facilities will increase with time. The choice of college depends on every individual’s discretion, resources and vision.

NIT Durgapur is one of the top engineering colleges in India and ranked 46th by NIRF 2019. On the other hand, HBTU or HBTI Kanpur has been ranked 166th by NIRF 2020. HBTI Kanpur is AICTE approved and affiliated to AKTU.

The fees of HBTI Kanpur are lower than NIT Durgapur for the CSE course. However, from the placement perspective, NIT Durgapur is better. Most of the companies hire students from NIT’s and IIT’s; hence there is an advantage of pursuing CSE from NIT Durgapur. NIT Durgapur has alumni working in top MNCs like Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. Also, the NIT brand name has more value and offers many opportunities.

PES University, Bangalore, and SASTRA University, Thanjavur are private institutions that have been accredited by NAAC. Both universities are recognized by UGC as well. The CSE program is a popular branch of engineering studies offered by both institutions.

• Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is a professional engineering program that focuses on practical and theoretical knowledge of computer hardware and software.

• The areas of employment include communication, IT, electronics, manufacturing industries, etc.

• PES: The campus comprises 3.5 million sq. ft. of built-up area and acres of open ground. The university offers facilities such as hostels, library, sports complex, and grounds, labs, cafeteria, gym, amphitheater, seminar and conference halls, healthcare, etc.

• SASTRA: The university has been recognized as a SIRO by DSIR, Government of India for its research facilities. The institute hosts numerous student activities and events such as DAKSH, BIOTIKOS, etc. Other facilities it offers include a library, clubs, auditorium, hostels, canteen, etc.

PES:

SASTRA:

• The highest and average package offered was 28.5 LPA and 9.3 LPA, respectively.

CSE is a decent program at these institutions and thus, it is an individual’s personal discretion as to which one will be the best choice for him or her. One must thoroughly learn about both the universities before taking the decision.

NIT Srinagar is ranked 201 for BTech and 39 for BTech by NIRF 2020 and India Today 2020 respectively, whereas NIT Manipur ranks 158th for BTech by NIRF 2020. It has a 300+ acres campus area. It has a faculty strength of 70 members most of them being highly qualified and PhD holders.

NIT Nagaland is an autonomous university recognized by AICTE and UGC. They have a total of 43 faculty members, 27 of them being PhD holders.

NIT Mizoram is an autonomous university affiliated by AICTE. They have a total intake of 190+ students in each department. 

NIT Sikkim is an autonomous university approved by UGC and AICTE. NIT Sikkim offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

NIT Meghalaya ranks 61st for BTech by NIRF 2020. 104 students were placed in the 2018-2019 placement program conducted by the institute. It is accredited by AICTE.

A CSE graduate can work as a System Database Administrator, Computer Programmer, Engineering Support Specialist, Data Warehouse Analyst, System Designer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Lecturer or Professor, Computer Operator and Research Analyst.

Students graduating with ECE can work as Electronics Engineer, Field Test Engineer, Network Planning Engineer, Electronics and Communications Consultant, Research and Development Software Engineer.

• DAIICT offers ICT and ICT with minors in Computational Science. Almost 40% of the syllabus is basically Communication. The syllabus will be a combination of ECE and IT. If you are sure about Communication then don’t choose DAIICT. 
• While choosing try to factor in the location too. DAIICT is situated in Gandhinagar, which is far away from our city. So, it was a point of consideration for my brother.
• DAIICT is private and changes more fees.

NITs:

• On the other hand, aspiring students who want to pursue B. Tech in CS from NITs, have to qualify JEE Main, and for M. Tech, they have to qualify GATE.

• Around 45% of seats are filled with KCET qualified students, 30% of seats are filled with COMEDK qualifiers and the rest is reserved for management quota.

Placement:

RV College:

• After placements, the highest salary package that is offered to the RV college students remains to be around 50 LPA and the average salary package remains around 8 LPA.

• Top recruiters are Accenture, Alpha, Adani group, Accolite, Amazon, and more. The placement rate is more than 90%.

NITs:

• Various companies offer internships and jobs to the students of NITs. The major companies are Amazon, BSNL, Wipro, Bharat Electronics Limited, IBM, LAVA, Polaris, Deloitte, Ericsson, EXL, IBM, Affine, Accenture, and more.

• The highest package that is offered to the CS students of NIT remains to be around 34 LPA and the average package remains around 8 LPA.

• More than 90% of NIT students get placed every year.

Apart from these factors, infrastructure is an important thing to take into account. All these institutes offer boys and girls hostel accommodation. A library is available inside all the campuses. Faculty members seem to be well experienced and helpful.
