Which is better, NIT Trichy CSE or Jadavpur University CSE??

PR
Prajukta Roy Posted On : November 3rd, 2021
studies Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering at Jadavpur University

NIT Trichy is definitely better than Jadavpur University and NIT Trichy. Following are the reasons for the same:

  • NIT Trichy has a better QS world ranking than JU.
  • It has a great entrepreneurial culture. Many of the alumni of the institute have moved on to found technological and social ventures in India and abroad. They can be found in the list of CEOs in some companies that are listed in Fortune India 500 and Forbes Global 2000.
  • NIT Trichy also has a good placement record. In 2021, the average CTC offered was 6 LPA.

Jadavpur University is also a reputed institute. With time the quality of education at JU is also improving. So, I will suggest you do your own research and choose an institute that works best for you.

How is Chemical Engineering at NIT Surathkal?

SG
Shikha Ghosal Posted On : September 14th, 2023
Studied BTech in Computer Science, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2019)

The Chemical Engineering branch at NIT Surathkal isn’t well-known because of its obsolete curriculum and poor placement scenario. I hope you haven’t yet joined it but if you have known that there is no turning back. It’s better to start working hard to compensate for the poor branch than to sit and regret.

It’s better to opt for Chemical in Trichy or Warangal. Otherwise, you can study hard in the 1st year and opt for a branch change. Even if you fail to get CSE/IT, even civil and mining will do.

I have many friends who joined this department recently and all of them are regretting their decision big time. Some even call it the worst in the institution. So I will recommend you to go for Chemical in NIT Warangal instead.

How hard is MBA admission at the Great Lakes (Chennai/Gurgaon)?

RS
Ruhee Singhania Posted On : March 16th, 2023
studied at Great Lakes

If you're considering Great Lakes Institute of Management (Chennai/Gurgaon) for MBA, you should be aware that it may not be a good option. There are numerous students with bad experiences during their interviews and found that the companies that come for placement are not very good. The placement process for the PGDM and PGPM batches of Great Lakes Chennai in 2023 has come to an end. The highest package offered was INR 46 LPA, while the average salary for the PGDM batch was INR 14.5 LPA and for the PGPM batch, it was INR 18.10 LPA. Additionally, the campus is small and lacks open spaces or grounds.

So if you're thinking about joining Great Lakes, you should be cautious. It's not a good idea to join just for the sake of doing an MBA. You should choose a business school that will help you build a successful career, not ruin it.

Bachelor of Science from Patna Science College, Patna (2019)

It can be difficult to get your hands on the previous year’s question paper of Patna University. Since the university takes back the question paper after the examination. However, you can get these question papers from the book shops situated opposite the university. There are also a few websites created by the students of the university where you can find the question papers.

What happens to IIM dropouts?

RB
Rangan Banerjee Posted On : April 27th, 2023
IIM Ahmedabad (2020)

IIMs, despite being one of the highly coveted B Schools in the country, have their own list of Non-Graduate alumni who chose to give up their MBA from IIMs for other things.
According to the data obtained by STOI from the IIMs under a Right to Information (RTI) query, more than 100 students have dropped out of the two-year postgraduate program in the past decade.

IIM Calcutta has the highest number of dropouts with around 286 students dropping out of the

program between 1995 and 2008. This figure is expected to have increased over the last few years though no exact data exists.

Now the question arises, why do students choose to drop out from such a prestigious institution that is hard to get into and provides excellent opportunities? Well, a few common reasons for students choosing to drop out are:

  • Poor academic performance
  • Desire to start your own venture
  • Frustration with the overall ambiance of the Institute

Most dropouts of IIMs choose another career that is less challenging or follows their own passions that made them give up an excellent opportunity like an MBA from IIM.

How do I reach NIT Delhi by metro?

ID
Ipsita Dutt Posted On : April 29th, 2026

NIT Delhi is located in Sector 3, Dwarka, Delhi — easy to reach by metro.

Closest metro station: Dwarka Sector 10 on the Blue Line (Line 3). from there it's roughly 2 km to NIT Delhi, easily covered by auto/e-rickshaw (Rs.20-40).

step-by-step from major points:

  • From Central Delhi (Rajiv Chowk): take Blue Line towards Dwarka Sector 21, get off at Dwarka Sector 10. ~35 min
  • From New Delhi Station: take Blue Line from New Delhi metro station to Dwarka Sector 10. ~45 min
  • From IGI Airport: take Airport Express Line to Dwarka Sector 21, then switch to Blue Line one stop back to Dwarka Sector 10. ~25 min

most students use e-rickshaws or bikes from Dwarka Sector 10 for the last mile. the area is well-connected and affordable. Blue Line is the main line you need — runs from Noida Electronic City to Dwarka Sector 21, covering all of Delhi.
