What is the percentile required to get into IIM Ahmedabad for the SC category?
IIM Ahmedabad is one of the premier institutes of management offering highly integrated courses. It takes admission through the Common Aptitude Test (CAT). CAT qualifies to be one of the toughest examinations of the country due to factors like competition and pattern. Overall, you will need around 90 percentile in CAT to get a call for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
But securing 90 percentile in CAT does not mean you will get admission to IIM Ahmedabad. You need to perform well in WAT and PI to secure a seat.

I want to get a PhD from IGNOU. Is it tough to get a PhD from IGNOU?
It is a given fact that IGNOU is one of the best universities in India. All of its courses have great value. But when it comes to PhD, the truth is that there are many universities that are more specialized in it. Also, you can opt to study abroad. It is a very good option and has a lot of benefits.

Should I go for MSIT Program at IIIT Hyderabad?
My friend was a student of MSIT at IIIT Hyderabad. According to him, from a placements point of view, you should rather sit for PGEE conducted by IIIT Hyderabad and take admission into the M.Tech course offered by this institution.
If you wish to land a job at Google, MSIT won’t allow you to sit for its placements. This is because Google doesn't hire MSIT students. Only M.Tech and B.Tech students are allowed to sit for the placements of top brands like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Adobe, Amazon, Cisco, Walmart, Indeed, Uber, Samsung, etc. More than 150 companies visit the IIIT Hyderabad campus to hire B.Tech and M.Tech students. M.Tech CSE students are placed with an average package of around INR 31 LPA.
MSIT course is like revising the concepts of Computer Science up to your B.Tech level. The only bonus is that you will get to do a project for every programming language. MSIT is useful if you belong to a non CS/IT background in B.Tech as it will allow you to learn Computer Science from basics.
Thus, for good placement offers, go for the M.Tech CSE/ M.Tech Computer Science and Information Security instead of the MSIT program at IIIT Hyderabad.
Is studying in Patna University better than Magadh University?
Patna University is comparably better than Magadh University. It maintains a fixed schedule. The classes and examinations are on time. Your course will be completed within the scheduled time. The results and degrees are delivered as per the timeline. The academics and teaching methodology used at Patna University are better than Magadh University.
It also has a locational benefit. Patna has many good coaching institutes for banking, SSC, etc.
Should I join NIT Agartala or go for any private university?
Choosing between NIT Agartala and a private university depends mainly on two factors, the branch you are getting at NIT and obviously your financial situation.
One needs to be financially strong if one wants to join private colleges. Moreover, not every private college is good and most of them have a poor crowd that got in by paying huge amounts. The most credible ones are BITS Pilani, BIT Meshra, VIT Vellor and VIT Bhopal. Unless you are getting these colleges, it’s better to join NIT Agartala.
If you have financial constraints or want to get the NIT tag, then NIT Agartala is a much better choice. However, the placements of some branches are really bad here so you can also upgrade your branch after your 1st year to CSE or ECE.
Ultimately, the decision will depend on your personal preferences and financial condition.
Is the Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University good?
University of Shri Ramswaroop, Lucknow Memorial is recognized by the UGC. As one of my cousins studied there, I can say that in terms of study the University is extremely good.
- The university’s environment is a bit unclear to me.
- The faculty of the university is quite strict, yet it is not as good as it should be in any educational institution.
- The infrastructure is good however it is not well maintained.
- University's placement is average for some well-known businesses like Tata and Wipro. They even offer lower salary packages.
- Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University will help you at the end of the semester with an additional value course that would be added to your CV.

Thus, the overall performance of the college is average. If you want to study here, you need to work hard yourself and be less dependent on the faculty members and the college name. Ultimately choose what is best for you.
Which one is better for a B.Tech Assam Engineering College or Tezpur University?
It is better to go for B.Tech at Tezpur University (TU) than Assam Engineering College (AEC). Following are the reasons for the same:
- TU has great faculty and infrastructure, and you will get a lot of exposure.
- The only drawback is the lack of placements. Being a new institution very few companies visit the college.
- AEC on the other hand, is very old, and has a strong alumni network.
- Placement is better at AEC compared to TU, but still it keeps fluctuating which makes students unsure.

If your aim is to get a job right after your graduation, then you should join AEC. But if you are interested more in research and exposure and want to opt for higher studies, TU will be a better option.
Is IGNOU approved by UGC AICTE?
IGNOU is a public university governed by the statutes of the Indian Parliament under the IGNOU Act, which authorises IGNOU to confer degrees and diplomas in any discipline and mode: regular, distance, online, or hybrid.
Because IGNOU is a self-governing authority directly under MHRD, India, and its Chancellor is the President of India, it does not require approval from UGC, AICTE, DEB, MCI, or any other statutory body.
However, IGNOU may, at its sole discretion, request that any of the aforementioned authorities state that they have recognised IGNOU programmes. When compared to internationally renowned universities, including Ivy Leagues, GNOU's curriculum, programme design, flexibility, grading methodology, quality of delivery, and evaluation system are on par or even above the bar.
Only hardworking, self-motivated, and 'creators of their own careers' individuals should pursue IGNOU programmes, while those who rely on institutions to help them get placed with good packages due to industry tie-ups should do otherwise.
