TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : May 24th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

There are many aspects of an MBA degree. One of the most important factors that students usually consider are placements, ROI, and campus life, so I’ll try to answer accordingly.

Institute

Fee

Highest Package

Average Package

UPES

INR 14,46,000

28 LPA

8.38 LPA

BIMTECH

1300,000

23.43 LPA

10.5 LPA

UPES has a beautiful campus and a great view. BIMTECH on the other hand is at a slight disadvantage due to its location. The weather is extreme and humid in Noida but the campus is great if we compare it with other B-Schools situated in Delhi NCR.

What is better, a BBA at Maharaja Surajmal Institute (IPU) or a B.Com from a low-ranked DU college?

AM
Akriti Malhotra Posted On : September 14th, 2022
BBA from Maharaja Surajmal Institute, New Delhi

In general, doing a BBA from Maharaja Surajmal Institute (IPU) will be better than doing a B.Com from a low-ranked DU college. It is one of the finest institutes in Delhi. The career opportunities and exposure offered are great. Each year around 60% of students from B.Com get placed through Maharaja Surajmal Institute placements. The average salary package offered is in the range of INR 4 - 6 LPA.

But you should give preference to the course you are interested in. Choose the institute where you are getting your preferred course.

Which is better, PEC Chandigarh or VIT Vellore?

RG
Ritika Ghosh Posted On : January 12th, 2021
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, (2020)

Both institutes are considered to be reputed engineering colleges. Though studying at PEC Chandigarh I realized it will be a better option. Following are the facts which make it better than the other institutes -

Placements (Winning Institute- PEC Chandigarh)

  • PEC has a progressive atmosphere for core branches like mechanical. The faculties are cooperative and help in placement training and creative experimental works.
  • Most of the tech giants including Google, Amazon, Adobe, Alstom, Volvo, Fiat, L&T, Indian Oil, etc. visit PEC for campus recruitment.
  • Highest CTC up to 60 LPA is offered to CS, IT, and ECE students.

The following table shows a brief overview of the two institutes.

Particulars

PEC Chandigarh

VIT Vellore

Median Salary (CSE)

?7 Lakh

? 5.5 Lakh

Total Fees (B.Tech)

?4.6 Lakh

?7.83 Lakh

Admission Cut off Rank (CSE)

8313(JEE Main)

7000 (VITEEE)

The city of Chandigarh has a lot to offer. There might be a few problems regarding food and accomodation in Vellore for non local students. Other than that, PEC provides necessary facilities including an excellent library, workshops, sports grounds and much more.

PEC has moderate fees, compared to VIT, as being an institute of national importance. PEC has a better student culture, with no management quota. Also, has a far better employee reputation throughout the years.

Which is better between ECE at DTU and IT at IIEST Shibpur?

PR
Pratap Roy Posted On : September 24th, 2020
B.Tech Mathematics and Computing, Delhi Technological University (2019)

ECE and IT are two completely different streams in the field of Engineering and hence, one must go for the stream he/she wants to pursue. However, choosing the right college to build a student’s career is also important. So the following points can be taken into consideration for choosing between IIEST Shibpur and Delhi Technological University(DTU). IIEST Shibpur is ranked 20th in India by NIRF / MHRD in the Year 2019. Whereas, DTU presently ranks 62 by the NIRF.

Cut-off: Both the institute takes admission based on a valid score in JEE Main followed by Joint Admission Counselling.

  • At IIEST Shibpur the JEE MAIN cut-off rank for taking admissions in IT was 9524 - 17031 in 2019.

  • At DTU the cut-off rank in ECE was 22258, in the same year.

Fees:

  • At DTU the average fees per year are 1.95 lakhs.

  • For IIEST Shibpur the average fees per year are 1.37 lakhs.

Thus in terms of fees, BTech in IIEST Shibpur costs less than that of DTU.

Placement:

  • Headed by a Renowned Ex IIT Director, IIEST Shibpur got the highest placement record of 75% in IT, last year. It witnessed the highest salary package of INR 39.12 LPA.

  • Whereas, 170 out of 192 that is 88.5% of students got placed in ECE in DTU. The highest salary for B.Tech ECE during the last placement was INR 39 LPA.

So, DTU is much ahead in terms of placements.

You can apply for any of the two colleges keeping in mind the above-mentioned comparisons. DTU and IIEST Shibpur are the two most renowned colleges in India. However, IIEST is ranked higher and offers better placement than DTU. Nevertheless, the first thing that you have to consider is which stream you want to study and then decide a college depending upon that. Now, if you haven't decided anything and is confused between the above two streams, then studying IT at IIEST Shibpur is a better option.
