Which business school is better, PSG Institute of Management or IBS Hyderabad?

SM
Satadru Majumder Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
Studied at IIM A (2018)

Some people would say that competition is harmful to students as it pressurizes them but, to be honest, we cannot deny the fact that competition always increases the quality whether it is between students or big companies.

Having friends in both the institutes, I can say that ICFAI Business school (IBS Hyderabad) is much better than PSG Institute of Management.

  • It is ranked higher, placement opportunities are better there and the crowd you’d meet is really competitive.
  • In PSG Institute of management, you will be dealing with a majority of the Tamil-speaking crowd.
  • Whereas, IBS Hyderabad has a diverse crowd and you get familiar with a different mindset and explore new things there.
  • You will learn a lot in IBS Hyderabad.

In NIRF Ranking, ICFAI Business school (IBS Hyderabad) has been ranked #25 in India among top management institutes in 2021.

What is better, placement-wise, IET Lucknow CS or JSS Noida CS with a fee waiver seat?

VS
Virinda Sal Posted On : August 6th, 2021
Studied Computer Science at Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow (2010)

JSS Noida will be a better option for you. The location factor is also very important. After completing course, you can easily get a job in any of the IT in Noida. The off-campus chances of getting placed are also high. You will also get good industrial exposure in the JSS Noida college. The college is very strict in attendance. The company has got a lot of placement opportunities. The labs and equipment of the college are also well equipped.

IET Lucknow being a government college is good for core branches only. The CS and IT branch of the college is not that good. If you are planning for GATE and other competitive exams. you might get ample time for that because there is no such attendance system.

Which is the best university for a CSE, PDPU Changa or Nirma University?

MD
Manas Das Posted On : October 14th, 2020
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, Nirma University (2019)

Nirma University as well as PDPU Changa University, both situated in Gujrat, provide a 4-year classroom program for the CSE branch.

Admission:

  • Both of these colleges provide a BTech degree in almost all the core departments.
  • Both the colleges consider the marks of JEE and the 12th marks for creating the merit list.
  • The minimum eligibility is 60% in class 12th with a good JEE score to get admission to both of these colleges.
Particulars Nirma University PDP University
Total fees 2.35 Lakhs 2.53 Lakhs
Cut off 44-340 in GUJCET 78-445 in JEE

Placements:

PDP University

  • The computer science department is very new and it hasn't placed any students yet so the placement records for the CS department aren't provided.
  • The highest CTC package offered for Petroleum Engineering was of INR 19.20 LPA, while the average CTC package was 7 LPA.
  • Many Companies visited the campus which included Aditya Birla group, PARLE, Microsoft, Pfizer, Cipla, Himalaya, Infosys, HP, LG, Agron, and many more.

Nirma University

  • The highest package offered was 16 LPA while the average salary package offered was 8.2 LPA.
  • There were almost 56 participants in the campus placement with top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Amazon, JP Morgan, LinkedIn, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Cleartrip, Intel, etc.

Infrastructure:

Nirma University

  • The library acts as the main attraction of the infrastructure and learning center of the University to meet the needs of more than 6,000 users.
  • Because of having all the institutes on the same university campus, it is spread in a large area.
  • The hostels with different student preferences are present to cope with the need of different students.

PDPU

  • Regular coaching camps are organized for all the students of PDPU. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students are encouraged to participate in Sports Tournament organized by AIU.
  • The facilities and infrastructure offered by the university are quite great, and the infrastructure is among the best compared to other colleges of Gujarat.

Both Nirma University and PDP University are having similar course fee structure. Nirma University has an impeccable alumni network due to its old department and has an upper edge over PDP University. So the Internship Opportunities and the exposure provided there are a bit better than the PDP University.

Which is better, IET-DAVV or PCCOE, Pune?

AS
Ahaana Sharma Posted On : July 14th, 2021
BA Political Science & Economics, St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur (2020)

Having to know people from both the institutes, I can say that they are equally good. But my choice will be inclined towards IET DAVV as it is more popular among students as well as professionals.

Both the institutes have good placement records and stats, especially in the CSE branch. If you’re a resident near Maharashtra then POCCE would be a good option whereas if you’re near Madhya Pradesh then IET- DAVV would be the suitable choice.

  • The numbers of companies visiting both campuses are approximately equal with core companies and other companies included.
  • They mainly get into consultancy providing companies.
  • As a student, it all depends on the amount of effort you put into your study and career and how smartly you put your efforts.
  • It all depends on you the institutes just provide and act as a supporting block helping to shape you and your carrier.
Categories POCCE IET DAVV
Course Fee 5.5 lakh 2.74 lakh
Highest CTC 8 LPA 21 LPA
Average CTC 6 LPA 11 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, IBM, etc. Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Capgemini, etc.

IET- DAVV has been recognized and awarded many felicitations. Moreover, IET-DAVV has almost all its courses recognized from AICTE which provides an advantage. Thus it is suggested you opt for IET DAVV over POCCE.
