AA
Anjana Agarwal Posted On : November 3rd, 2020
B.Tech from Sharda University (2015)

Times Pro is a Times of India Group initiative to cater to specialized needs of giving specific courses in a complete package form to students. MBA is provided only in 1 stream which is Banking & Financial Sector.

Sharda University is a premier private institute located in Noida offering MBA programs. It can be counted upon as one of the global institutes catering to the field of education. It provides two options either MBA with a specialization or dual specialization with exposure to countries worldwide.

They are both catering to the above requirements but in order to get a clear view; we need to get into the details of the offerings. The details are as follows:

Streams Offered

  • The streams offered by Sharda University are HRM, Healthcare & Hospital Management, Public Policy, Marketing, Fashion Management, Business Analytics, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Family Business & Entrepreneurship.
  • Times Pro offers programs in mainly Banking & Financial sectors.

Admission

  • The fee structure for Sharda University stands around INR 5.28 Lakhs.
  • Times Pro has associations with two universities and hence has differing fee brackets; Bennett University - INR 705,000 and Ajeenkya University - INR 710,000
  • The eligibility for both Sharda University and Times Pro is a basic graduation score with a minimum 60% score.
  • Sharda University also mandates certain exams like SUAT/ CAT/ MAT.

Placement Details

Sharda University

The placement details of Sharda University can be looked upon as follows:

  • A total of 350 companies visited the campus for the placement drive.
  • The highest package offered by the companies was INR 6.28 LPA.
  • Some of the recruiters include Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Indiamart, CitiBank, American Express, Naukri.com.

Times Pro

  • Some of the recruiters of the institute include ICICI Bank, HSBC, Axis Bank, Aditya Birla Capital.
  • The institute has a record of providing 90% placement to its students.

The primary advantage of associating with these courses is that they ensure placement and provide needed exposure to the individuals. Ajeenkya Patil University is a cross-disciplinary institute aiming with a better exposure ahead. Times Group also adds its innovative partnership element to it. It caters to other streams but in PGDM format.

The decision rests on the fact whether you are open to a single or multiple streams MBA program. Sharda University benefits from a dual specialization program while Times Pro focuses on a single domain. The choice is on the interest and career to pursue.

Is it better to do a BSc in CS from DU or from CURAJ?

DS
Deepika Shinde Posted On : December 28th, 2021
B.Sc. Computer Science, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, University of Delhi

You should go for a B.Tech in CS, rather than a BSc degree. Most jobs usually ask for a 4-year long B.Tech degree or a B.Sc+M.Sc (5 years) in CS. So, you may face problems while applying for jobs. As for the colleges, DU will be a better option compared to CURAJ. In 2021, NIRF has ranked Delhi University 11th in India.

Which college should I choose for mechanical engineering: SRM Sonepat or UPES?

PR
Preeyesh Rajpal Posted On : April 7th, 2021
Studies Mechanical Engineering at SRM Sonepat

If you are considering the main SRM campus, you don’t need to hesitate. The campus is quite good. The faculties might not be great, but there are departments where they are found to be standard.

The hostels however are not quite up to the mark, so you can opt to search for a PG. The student crowd is quite impressive. You will be among talented peers. Also, SRM has a standard placement record.

Additionally, the other bonus point is that this institute is one of the most known private universities all through India. VIT, Manipal, BITS being the other three, while Thapar RVCE and so on follow straightaway.

A brief highlight of both institutes is briefed below.

Parameters

SRM Sonepat

UPES

Average CTC

12.50 LPA

45 LPA

Highest CTC

5.11 LPA

5.25 LPA

Fees

10.85 lakhs

13.85 lakhs

If you want to go for Mechanical Engineering, then you must go to SRM Sonepat. It is due to the fact that UPES is good basically for Petroleum, Aerospace Engineering and a few of the CS Branches, while SRM Sonepat can be a good choice for mechanical engineering.

Should I take a drop for DU CIC B.Tech, I have got B.Com. Hons. at SVC DU. I am from Comm stream so CIC is the only option. I'm very interested in computer science.

MB
Meera Bose, Posted On : November 8th, 2021
studied at University of Delhi (2021)

This entirely depends on your preference. If you are interested in Computer Science then your goal should not only be CIC.

You can get into IIT, NIT, BITS, etc. which are also excellent in terms of CS. So, make your goal clear, as college is not the factor. Do not take a drop for just a college, take it only for CS, and no matter the institute, work hard to succeed in it.

If your interest lies in CIC then you should continue it. But keep in mind that you are from a commerce background, so it will not be easy for you to compete with other students of science background.

SVC is one of the best colleges of DU and your course is the most popular among students, so if you think to pursue your career further in commerce, SVC is really a good option.

Which university is good for PG courses, CUSB or CUH?

AG
Anamika Ghosh Posted On : December 23rd, 2021
LL.B from Central University of South Bihar (2019)

Among the above mentioned institutes, it is recommended that you go for CUSB (Central University of South Bihar) rather than CUH (Central University of Haryana).

Here are some reasons to choose CUSB:

  • CUSB has a huge and very well maintained campus. It is appropriate for an educational institution.
  • The placement here is really good. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, L&T, TCS and Cognizant take part in their placement program.
  • Tech Mahindra and TCS offer mass recruitments.
  • The infrastructure is world class. They have a central library with lots of study materials including e-books.
  • The mess facilities are moderate. The food is affordable but does not offer many variations.
  • The seniors are very helpful. They organize many cultural and technical events, where you also get the opportunity to take part in.
  • The faculty here is highly experienced and cooperative.

CUSB also provides hostel facilities, with separate hostels for boys and girls. They have a computer lab, a bioinformatics lab and a media lab. They provide a sports complex, auditorium, gym, medical facilities and also shuttle service. Thus choosing CUSB for your PG courses will definitely prove to be good.
