What do you think would be the cutoff in spot round for COE in Thapar University?

PR
Priya Raghav Posted On : August 11th, 2021
B.Tech, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2020)

Due to the increased student intake, the cut-offs for COE went down to 100 marks for Punjab and 130 marks for outside Punjab candidates, in the last few years. Here is the cutoff trend for COE.

Year  Cutoff Percentile
2019 89
2018 84

As the seats are increasing, there is a probability that the cut-offs might decline further. The cut-off will be around 90 marks for Punjab and 115 marks for outside Punjab candidates.

It will be better to attend the spot counseling irrespective of your chance of admission as it is uncertain. You might be lucky to get your favorite branch at Thapar.

Can I get a profile based call from TAPMI at 78.29 percentile?

SG
Sanjeev Ghosh Posted On : May 1st, 2023
Studied Post Graduate Diploma in Management at T. A. Pai Management Institute

"Profile-based shortlisting" is what TAPMI does for candidates who have worked for more than 24 months. Profiles that are being considered for shortlisting include

  • Valid scores on the CAT, XAT, or GMAT, whichever is higher.
  • Academic profile (10th grade, 12th grade, college, backlogs during college, etc.)
  • Experience at work (type of company, number of months, etc.)
  • Extra-curricular if any
  • Statement of Purpose

Each program's shortlisting process is different from the other programs. Not making the shortlist for one program doesn't mean you'll make it for the other.

PGDM, Birla Institute of Management Technology, 2017

The entrance score is not the only factor that is considered for admission for PGDM at BIMTECH. So, it is not possible to provide a definite answer from your percentile only. Discussed below are some points which may help you in understanding the admission process at BIMTECH.

Cutoff:

According to the recent placement trend at the institute, it is safe to say students with 86.23 percentile in CAT/XAT/GMAT are eligible to apply for all the courses.

  • PGDM - (Specializations- Finance/ Marketing/ Operations/ HR)
  • PGDM- International Business Management
  • PGDM- Insurance Business Management
  • PGDM- Retail Business Management

BIMTECH also accepts CMAT/MAT scores administered. Last year the required cutoff at the institute was as follows.

Program

Entrance

CAT/XAT/GMAT & CMAT

70% & 95%

PGDM IB

CAT/XAT/GMAT & CMAT

65% & 90%

PGDM IBM

CAT/XAT/GMAT & CMAT

60% & 70%

The other courses are equally reputed among students too. The final decision is up to you. It also depends on what other options you have.

What are the chances of getting CSE in UIT RGPV if my JEE Mains CRL is 492,000 and I belong to the SC category?

RS
Ragini Singh Posted On : August 21st, 2021
M.Tech from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal (2017)

The competition is extremely high among students to get admission for CSE because of the presence of decent jobs in the domain. This branch is continuously becoming a popular choice among engineering students. Tech giant companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini visit the campus of UIT RGPV for the recruitment of students in the CSE department.

You can compare your acquired score with the expected cutoff for 2021. For the year 2021, you check the expected cut off in the table given below:

Particulars JEE Main Percentile
Common Rank List (CRL) 90-95
GEN-EWS 70-75
Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) 70-75
SC 50-55
ST 40-45

As per the expected JEE Main cut-off, for an SC candidate, the rank for CSE can range from 143548-317375 in UIT RGPV.

Because of the increased demand, it is quite difficult to predict if you would get admitted into the CSE department. Opt for the counseling rounds and if you are ready for risks, go for the 2nd and 3rd rounds of counseling.

How much cat score is needed to get admission in NITIE Mumbai?

TM
Talat Mirza Posted On : August 20th, 2021
MBA Industrial Management & General Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

NITIE Mumbai offers a total of five postgraduate programs of which Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Management (PGDSM) are two of the management programs which accept CAT scores for admission.

The cutoffs for the two courses change every year depending on the pool of candidates applying to the program. Also, the overall performance of the candidates and sectional cutoffs play a huge part in the process.

But according to previous year trends, a CAT score of around 96percentile is needed for the PGDIM course while a percentile of 95 is needed for the PGDSM course.

Being a non-engineer OBC girl candidate, at what percentile can I expect a call from IIM Udaipur

DM
Devrath Muskan Posted On : January 17th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (2021)

Your gender and category play a very insignificant role in determining your chances of getting admission. As a girl you will be given 5 marks extra owing to gender diversity. And your Category will require you percentile lesser than the general category. But these factors are not the major parameters for selecting candidates. The major criterias include your past academic records and work experience. The weightages allotted to these components can be checked from the official website.

Considering your profile here is my opinion regarding the percentile required to guarantee your admission.

  • 90+ — 100% chances
  • 85–90 - Almost 100% chances
  • 80–85 - May or may not get a call though chances for getting a call are more
  • 70–80 - Chances of getting a call are relatively low

Please note that this is guaranteed only if you clear category specific cut-offs.

What will be the cutoff for the Madras Institute of Technology 2018 (aeronautical engineering)?

SR
Sritama Ray Posted On : May 18th, 2021
Studied at Madras Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu (2016)

The cut-off marks are generally very high for aeronautical engineering at Madras Institute of Technology. This may vary according to the category you belong to.

  • If you are a general category student then the cut off marks will be 198 or more.
  • It will be 196 for BC, 194 for BCM, 195 for MBC and 190 for SC/ST students.

The cut off marks are decided based upon the percentage of subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Maths specially.

Suppose if you are a state board student, then the total marks would be 200. If the marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Maths are 190,196,195 respectively then the percentage is -

Physics

[190/200 x 100] = 95%

Chemistry

[196/200 x 100] = 98%

Maths

[195/200 x 100] = 97.5 %

Cut Off

97.5 +[(95+98) ÷ 2] = 194

The cut off marks are very high for aeronautical engineering. You must score very good marks and get higher rankings in order to secure a seat in this branch. The competition is also too high.
