Current events and general knowledge are crucial for IIM Indore's Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) Personal Interview (PI) round. Reference books:
Besides these publications, practise mock interviews and prepare answers to frequent inquiries about your history, hobbies, and aspirations. This will boost your confidence and PI round performance.
According to some of my friends studying at IIM Indore, it is renowned for its management studies. It is ranked seventh in the NIRF Ranking for Management 2020.
The course has an excellent curriculum and provides the best exposure to the students that is unparalleled to any other programmes in India. Overall, the ultimate choice depends upon your interests and what you want to be in the future.
There are around 500 seats for BBA at NMIMS. To bag a seat at the Mumbai campus, the best and secured rank is below 1000, but there are chances at 1684 rank as well because as the waitlist moves, the students at below ranks shift to a more probable zone. In the past, the trends have shown that even students with 2000-2200 ranks got admission into the BBA course at NMIMS. To secure your rank for the Mumbai campus, you must have to score above 80-85 in the NPAT exam.
I have a few friends from IIM Indore and according to them, it is risky to take a year-drop to prepare for IPM. Before taking a drop and preparing for IPM at IIM Indore, consider the fees which are quite high. You can even appear for the entrance exam for IPM while continuing your current college. If you end up getting selected for admission, you can discontinue your current college.
Student experiences provide valuable insights but vary individually based on personal expectations and involvement.
Aspects to consider:
Connect with current students and alumni on LinkedIn or college forums for honest perspectives. Individual experience depends on how actively you engage.
Both the above-mentioned options are excellent to be considered. The IIMs prepares you to manage people and processes, whereas the ISI prepares you to be excellent quants.
Many IIM graduates work as quantitative analysts, they get the highest-paying jobs. If the ISI course is more appropriate, you could take the Bachelor of Statistics course. Quantitative analysts, on the other hand, tend to wear out soon, due to heavy workload.
An IIM education provides you with a broad perspective on management as well as access to a large alumni network. So, if you want to work your way up the corporate ladder, an IIM would be a better option. At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide where your priorities lie.
Earlier the selection process for admission in the 5 years IPM was not so transparent. Students had to resort to Right To Information (RTI) to get to know their stats for the admission process. An entrance exam was conducted and students didn’t even get to know the marks scored in the test and they didn’t even know how to evaluate themselves or the evaluation process. 60 percent weightage was given to the entrance exam and 40 percent weightage was given to the interview.
Nowadays it is very transparent. The admission committee views your past academic results mainly 11th and the boards. It grants you admission on the basis of past academic records, entrance exams, and interviews. So it is considered quite transparent these days as compared to earlier.
The professors at NMIMS Navi Mumbai have excellent reputation, majorly because the bulk of the professors at this college who teach for BBA level are PHDs in their specialties. Additionally, they use very modern approaches to keep the students interested and always try to make the classroom engaging through activities. Their curriculum includes working on real projects, site visits, conducting/ producing research and organizing workshops. Professors play a very important role in forming the culture of any institution and it’s necessary that they don’t limit themselves to classroom learning, it’s important to accommodate the needs of students even outside the college premises and thankfully professors at NMIMS do go an extra mile to help their students.
