One of my friends is a recent alumnus of IIM Indore. He took the IPM exam and here is a brief overview of what he mentioned about the examination.
Hope this helps answer your question.
Maharaja Surajmal institute has one of the best campuses in IPU and the best institute for BBA in IP university. It is one of the top 3 colleges of IPU. I have a few friends at the institute, so I can give you some idea about the course.
With a rank of 2500, you would get in easily in the first counseling itself. With around 55% marks in English in your 12th and a rank of 3000 or below, you should get in the first shift without much problem.
The infrastructure and faculty is average for BBA and the course costs around 2.65 lakhs.
Brainware University is a private college situated in Kolkata. The University is approved by UGC, AIU, and DSIR and has been recognized by PCI, BCI, and WBNC. It has been ranked 67th based on faculty and placements. It offers B.Tech, B.Pharm, BA, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, and B.Com courses at the UG level.

The college is very well-known for its placement record as it has an active placement cell which strives to achieve a perfect placement rate, making it a go-to college for those interested in placements. If you are keen on studying in West Bengal this college is a good choice as it is ranked highly in the state.
IIM Indore's Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) curriculum includes Humanities as an essential discipline. The traditional mindset considers Humanities as an inferior subject, but the truth is that Humanities subjects like Sociology, Political Science, and Psychology are very useful for Managers. Studying Humanities gives a wider perspective of the world. Nearly every subject nowadays has a “behavioral” aspect to it.
For example, Behavioral Economics and Behavioral Finance are emerging fields where the understanding of human behavior and psychology is applied to economics and finance.
Similarly, studying Sociology gives a perspective on how societies form and work, which might be useful in one's career. Political Science is again a very important subject as it helps understand how governments and institutions work.
It is important to understand that whatever you study might not give you immediate monetary benefit, but that doesn't mean it is not going to help in the long run. No doubt that subjects like Statistics are very important, but running and analyzing plain numbers alone isn’t the key, you always need to have a wider perspective.
The inclusion of Humanities in the IPM curriculum is indeed an advantage that IPM has over other such courses at the undergraduate level. It helps students develop a more holistic view of the world, which is essential for future managers. In nearly every subject course of Humanities, the first class is about ‘why’ managers need that particular Humanities subject. Therefore, it is clear that Humanities is an essential discipline that every aspiring manager needs to study.
NMIMS Bangalore and MIT WPU Pune have reputable BBA programmes.
Bangalore's NMIMS B-School is regarded for its exceptional professors, industry-focused curriculum, and strong industry ties. NMIMS Bangalore's BBA programme teaches business and management fundamentals.
However, MIT WPU Pune is famous for its industry-academia connections, experiential learning, and cutting-edge facilities. The MIT WPU Pune BBA programme prepares students for corporate success.
NMIMS Bangalore and MIT WPU Pune offer outstanding BBA programmes. But most rating agencies place NMIMS Bangalore above MIT WPU Pune.
IIM Rohtak is a green campus that prioritises environmental safety, and students are not permitted to use vehicles on campus.
During COVID times, IIM Indore restricted the ability of IPM students to commute or even bring vehicles to the campus. Cycles may be permitted depending on the college, but they are currently uncommon at IIM Rohtak.
IMS Ghaziabad University Course Campus is a 31-year-old leading professional institute. The institute has a history of receiving many awards for its excellent contribution in the industry-academia education landscape. The institute has been Ranked 2nd in placements, by Times All India B-School Survey, 2020 & 1st in U.P. & Uttarakhand. The institute is also NAAC accredited and ISO certified.
Overall IMS Ghaziabad is an excellent choice as it not only trains you academically but also enhances your personality to perform better in interviews. The institute also conducts developing programs like career counseling, training, and psychometric profiling of students for effective career planning.
Having some of my friends study in both colleges, I can say that enrolling in Shaheed Sukhdev for BMS would be much more apt than that of IIM Rohtak for IPM. Both the colleges hold their places enormously but Shaheed Sukhdev will be better due to their overall educational experience.
There are several reasons for choosing it, some are:
| Categories | IPM at IIM Rohtak | BMS at Shaheed Sukhdev |
| Course Fee | 30.75 lakh | 40,075 |
| Course Duration | 5 years | 3 years |
| Highest CTC | 24 LPA | 19.25 LPA |
| Average CTC | 13 LPA | 8-10 LPA |
| Recruiting Companies | Amazon, Accenture, Berger, Capgemini, etc. | Google, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, etc. |
It is suggested that you choose BMS over IPM. Though, both have their pros and cons but opting for BMS is worth more than IPM. Also, Sukhdev has a great market reputation and placement record. After all, it’s your decision that matters. Think appropriately for yourself. Good Luck.
If the current scenario is accurate, the student intake of IPM will be doubled only if the IIM bill is passed. This move has already brought a downgrade in the image of IIM Indore. Doubling the intake of students will more than dampen the image of IIM Indore. This step will make it one of the worst business schools in the country.
The batch already has around 120 students so it may not be possible to be in charge of a bigger batch. It is difficult enough already.
There is also a lack of capable faculty given the fact for the first 3 years, you will be taught by guest faculty.
If you are willing to pursue MBA after the completion of your engineering then IPM is the good option for you as you can complete your IPM in five years while engineering and MBA together will be for the entire six years. If you go for IPM, you will have one year of job experience after six years.
In the IPM program, you will get to learn relevant courses in the undergraduate (first three years), while the things you will learn in engineering, will not be of much use in an MBA.
IPM gives you a chance of doing an MBA from an IIM. If you want you can also attempt CAT to get into another IIM, after 3 years of the course.
If you are determined to do an MBA after gaining some experience, then IPM gives that option too. After two years of the IPM program, you will have the chance to work for two years. After that, you can come back and pursue your MBA from IIM Indore.
