Which college should I choose Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (2nd shift) or JIMS, Rohini (1st shift) for BBA?

In terms of placement and ranking JIMS, Rohini (1st shift) would be more worthy that that of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (2nd shift). Though both of the universities are affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

According to NIRF report 2023 JIMS (Jagan Institute of Management Studies) ranked 88 among the top management schools in India. It has been accredited by NAAC with a “A” grade. Whereas Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies ranked 151 among the universities in India in overall category.

100% of participants were placed during JIMS Rohini Placements 2023. The maximum package offered by JIMS Rohini was INR 22 LPA, while the average package was INR 8 LPA. The placement drive included the participation of 190 recruiters. Among the top employers were companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Gartner, Godrej, ITC, and TCS. Whereas Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies offered an highest package of 6.54 LPA which is comparatively much lesser than that of JIMS, Rohini.

Since both schools are associated with the same institution, it is difficult to discern between the faculties and course offerings. That is why it is safe to conclude that JIMS, Rohini would be a more favourable option in terms of placement and ranking.

What should I choose, IIM Rohtak IPM or IIT?

AG
Anik Ganguly Posted On : January 11th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (Graduated 2019)

Firstly both the institutes IIM Rohtak and IIT offer 2 courses in 2 different fields namely Management and Engineering. So the first thing you need to do is find your interest and then choose the college. In case you are interested in both, I will suggest you go for IIT because

  • The first and foremost reason for joining IIT is that you can still pursue MBA after engineering but not the other way around.
  • The program is relatively new and lacks credibility.
  • The fees is extremely high
  • The recent controversies at IIM Rohtak regarding IPMAT have ruined its reputation as an IIM.
  • There are many B Schools both IIM and Non-IIM that are better than Rohtak. So I will suggest you go for them.
  • It’s the PGP course of IIM that enjoys the most credibility owing to its strong alumni base. The IPM program lacks in this aspect a lot.

IIM Rohtak has very few graduates in the market because of its new establishment. Because of this, it lacks in many aspects so I won’t suggest you risk your career by choosing it.

What are the WAT topics for IIM Indore and IPM Indore?

TJ
Tanistha Joshi Posted On : August 28th, 2021
B.Tech Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (2019)

One of my friends graduated from IIM Indore and here are some things about WAT that might be useful to you.

  • The WAT topics mostly depend on general awareness issues.
  • IIM Indore conducts WAT (Written Ability Test) for its entrance test to its five-year Integrated IPM program.
  • You also have to write an essay based on either a topic they will give you or based on an image.
  • The topics can be anything ranging from what is currently happening around the world or anything theoretical and your opinion about them.
  • In Picture Based Essays, you’ll be given a picture that you would have to observe carefully and then describe what you see.

My friend had given the IPM twice, so for IPM WAT 2018 he had the topic on “Violence over Women” and for IPM WAT 2019, he had the topic “Technology”, candidates had to write for or against the motion. Sticking to the topic and giving a valid argument would support your write-up.

Which is the best for a BBA, IIM Rohtak, Symbiosis Pune, Shaheed Sukhdev, BVP Pune, or St. Xavier?s?

AK

Studied at Symbiosis International University, Poona

I have a friend who is an alumnus of the Symbiosis Pune BBA program and he vouches for the course. As far as the BBA program is concerned Symbiosis will offer great learning opportunities.

However, having the brand name of IIM in your resume can definitely be of advantage, so if you are getting IPM at IIM Rohtak, go for it. Other than IIM Rohtak, Symbiosis and Shaheed Sukhdev are also great alternatives for your BBA.

We can conclude that having a brand name IIM is a huge benefit for you, so if you can make it to the integrated course at IIM then always go for that otherwise the above-mentioned colleges are also good for pursuing BBA.

Can I prepare for IIM Indore IPM in 10 months?

JA
Jiya Agarwal Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
MBA in Marketing & Human Resource Management, T. A. Pai Management Institute (2019)

Yes, the IPM IIM Indore entrance exam can be prepared in 10 months. Some of my friends who joined IIM Indore and opted for IPM prepared for the exam in only 9-10 months.

Although, your level of participation could not be measured in months, but can be determined by the number of hours you put in each day. Many students used to enroll in the course for the year and then choose to drop out. But on the other hand students who are from crash courses are seen to reach their goal.

All in all, concentrate on your studies. Make a proper strategy by selecting the topics which are your strengths and weaknesses and solve them accordingly. Learn time management as this will be very beneficial. Finally, you can also look for a mentor to guide you through the process.

How is the new IPM programme by IIM Rohtak?

CR
Chandrakana Ray Posted On : August 5th, 2021
Studied at IIM Ahmedabad (2019)

Last year my cousin got admission for the new IPM program by IIM Rohtak, and according to his experiences, here are some key highlights you need to have a look at before going for it.

  • If you have recently completed your 12th board, you can take up this Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) if you aim to pursue your career in Business Management.
  • Since it's an integrated program it’s a comprehensive learning experience combining both UG and PG. You will be focused on managerial and leadership roles in the corporate sector.
  • In addition, you will be subjected to take up internships at the end of every academic year.

Once you successfully complete the course, you will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree by IIM Rohtak.

Pros:

  • The curriculum is rigorous with the entire program being divided into two parts – the Foundation course and Management.
  • Great practical experience through compulsory internships.
  • Credible with a fully-fledged MBA degree after completion of course

Cons:

  • Since it is newly introduced, the first batch hasn't passed yet so we can’t analyse the placement record, nor a strong alumni network.
  • The fees structure of this course is quite expensive. 4,51,000 per annum (For three years) & 7,60,000 per annum (For 4th & 5th year)
  • You will be completely locked in for 5 years and if you wish to pursue MBA in other top-notch business schools or abroad, you can't.

A five-year integrated course is a great option if you are looking to pursue an MBA altogether after your graduation without having to clear additional formalities and hustle. Also, if fee structure and budget is not a constraint for you, you can definitely choose this course. However, if you aspire to pursue MBA from other top institutes or abroad, this course is not for you.
