Are you referring to Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering in Sriperumbudur, Chennai? Are you planning to join through the management quota? The college has pretty decent placements. Quite a few students opt for pursuing higher studies like an MS in the US.

The discipline at the college might not be as strict as in some other institutions, but the education is generally alright. It's important to surround yourself with good friends. Make sure you focus on these crucial years. If you work hard, you can land a good job with a big company. Ultimately, it's up to you to succeed or not.

What is your review of St Andrews Institute of Technology and Management Gurugram?

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Botany at St Andrews, and I find it to be a good college for my studies. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, which helps in understanding complex topics. The annual fests and extracurricular activities keep things lively, and the library resources are decent. However, I feel there should be stricter monitoring of attendance to ensure that students are focusing on their studies. Overall, it's a good environment for learning and personal growth.

I'd give it 4 stars. The Software Engineering program is pretty solid. Plus, being close to Silicon Valley means there are tons of job opportunities once you finish at SJSU.

What is it like to be a freshman at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering?

G

As a freshman at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, I can tell you that getting hassled by seniors is very unlikely. The college has a strong anti-ragging policy in place. Overall, college life here is pretty good, with not much to complain about except maybe the food. The teachers are generally pretty relaxed, and some, especially in the English department, are really cool. The classroom vibe is quite laid-back. Unlike many other engineering colleges, there aren't too many strict rules, so you do feel a sense of freedom on campus. Personally, I feel lucky to be at SVCE, especially when I hear about the strict regulations at other colleges under Anna University. It's a fun place with a great atmosphere, and even if you're having a rough day, just walking around the campus can lift your spirits.

Is SVCE strict or free?

B
BogusBananaBoat Posted On : February 22nd, 2026

SVCE runs on its own rules since it's autonomous, which means the college can make its own decisions. In terms of rules, it's pretty laid-back. You won't find any strict dress codes like banning casual shirts or rules against chatting with girls. In fact, it's one of the more relaxed colleges compared to others.

When it comes to skipping classes, there are faculty members keeping an eye on things, but it's still doable. Just remember, you can't leave the campus during class hours through the main gate. Some students opt for the "jumpot" method, which involves hopping over the fence to catch a bus to the city.

Also, keep an eye out for monkeys around the campus, as they're known to grab things from you. Overall, SVCE offers a lot of freedom, but it's smart to use that freedom wisely. Enjoy!

What was your best experience at SV College of Engineering Tirupati?

P

Hey there,

I was at SVCE from 2018 to 2022. The college seems to focus a lot on getting money from students. They often come up with different excuses to charge us. The food in the canteen is pretty bad, even worse than what you might expect in jail, and it's not safe to eat either (sometimes there are bugs in it). There's a noticeable presence of Brahmanism, as most of the professors are Brahmins.

On the bright side, the college has a good placement record. Many companies come here to hire students. However, if you have the necessary skills, going for off-campus jobs might be a better choice. For on-campus placements, they charge 40k rupees claiming it's for training, but honestly, even 4k would be too much for what they offer.

All in all, if you're looking to spend your money unwisely, SVCE could be right up your alley.

What is your review of Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering SVCE?

Hey there,

I attended SVCE from 2018 to 2022. The main focus of this college seems to be taking money from students under various excuses. The food in the canteen is terrible, even worse than what you might expect in a jail, and it's not safe to eat (you might even find bugs in it). There's a noticeable influence of Brahmanism, as many of the professors are Brahmins.

On the bright side, the college does have good placement opportunities, with many companies coming for recruitment. However, if you have the necessary skills, you might want to consider off-campus placements instead. The college charges a hefty 40,000 rupees for on-campus placement training, which I feel is overpriced even if it was 4,000 rupees.

Overall, if you're looking to spend your money unwisely, SVCE could be a top choice for you.
