TAPMI Commences Academic Year for the Batch of 2023-25

New Delhi: The TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), located in Manipal, commenced the academic year for the 2023-25 batch on June 30 and July 1, 2023, where the batch of 2023-25 consisted of 530 students across the MBA programs in various specialisations. 

The TAPMI warmly welcomed several batches, including the 41st batch of MBA, 10th batch of MBA - Banking and Financial Services (BKFS), sixth batch of MBA - Human Resources (HRM), fifth batch of MBA - Marketing, and second batch of MBA - International Business (IB). 

During the inauguration ceremony, Kurian Jose, the Chief Executive Officer of TATA Pension Management Ltd, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He shared valuable insights on how students can make the most of their TAPMI experience. 

Highlighting the essential skills and competencies that recruiters seek in prospective candidates, Jose said that the importance of effective money management and the significance of saving. Interestingly, Jose himself is an alumnus of the batch 1998-2000, adding a special connection to his address.

The guest of honour at the event was Shweta Paliwal, Assistant Vice-President at JP Morgan Chase. Paliwal shared her personal experience and valuable insights gained during and after her time at TAPMI. 

She highlighted that TAPMI has the potential to be a life-changing experience, serving as a pathway to a successful career and fulfilling life. Paliwal herself is an alumna of the batch 2010-12, further adding credibility to her remarks.

Durga Prasad, the Director in-charge of TAPMI, warmly welcomed the attendees. In his speech, he highlighted the rich legacy of the institute's founder, TA Pai, and shed light on various aspects that contribute to TAPMI's reputation as one of the top B-schools in India.

Aniruddha Chatterjee, the Admissions Chair at TAPMI, provided an overview of the batch profile to the newly inducted students. The batch consists of over 500 students, with an average CAT/XAT score of 83.41 percentile. The student body reflects diverse educational backgrounds, with 66 percent being non-engineers. 

Further, the batch represents 25 States and union territories of India, showcasing a wide geographical diversity. Notably, the percentage of female students in the batch stands at 40.

The first day of induction activities concluded with introductions from faculty members, led by the respective area chairs. This allowed students to get acquainted with their professors and their areas of expertise. 

In the evening, there was a special session called "director-parent connect," providing an opportunity for the institute's director to interact with the parents or guardians of the newly admitted students.
