New Delhi: Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM) has partnered with Information Data Systems (IDS) to enhance blockchain education and applied research within the telecom sector.

SIDTM's collaboration with IDS aims to establish the Applied Blockchain Centre at SIDTM, with a specific focus on Hedera Hashgraph and the Bharat Blockchain Network (BBN).

As a part of the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between IDS and SIDTM, this partnership will address three primary areas, which include:

  1. Enterprise Blockchain Solutions in the Digital and Telecom Sector
  1. Practical Applications and Implementations of Hedera Hashgraph
  1. Importance of National Interest Use Cases on the Bharat Blockchain Network

The shortlisted participants from SIDTM, including both students and faculty, will gain exclusive access to the cutting-edge lab facilities offered by the Applied Blockchain Centre. This access will enable them to engage in hands-on sessions and conduct practical research as part of the MBA program.

Further, IDS is set to coordinate a series of activities, encompassing Joint Blockchain Certification Programs designed for Telecom Professionals, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), and an Annual Blockchain Summit to nurture a robust understanding of blockchain technology at SIDTM.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mr. Sudharshan Reddy Minumula, the CEO of IDS, expressed their excitement in partnering with SIDTM to facilitate the growth of blockchain adoption in the Telecom sector.

Meanwhile, Mr. Voruganti Aravind, the Global Vice President-Blockchain at IDS, stated that the Applied Blockchain Centre at SIDTM stands as one of the five Applied Research centres under Bharat Blockchain University Industry Cluster (UIC), following the guidelines of the University Grants Commission.

Expressing his delight to establish the partnerships between IDS and his alma mater, Mr. Sunil Subrahmanyam, the Head of Business at IDS and an Alumni of SIDTM, conveyed this moment as a source of pride, which enabled him to contribute to the benefit of his juniors on campus.

Highlighting the significance of technology's role in shaping the education of management graduates, DR. Rajani Gupte, the Vice-Chancellor of Symbiosis International University, expressed her hope that SIDTM would leverage this new technology to foster research and innovation.

Further, Dr. CA. Abhijit Chirputkar, the Director of SIDTM, noted that the institute had embraced the Digital Communication Policy, 2018. Since then, it has established labs spanning various technologies to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.

Dr. Giri Hallur, the Deputy Director of SIDTM, gave a vote of thanks, while Dr. Natraj N.A., a faculty member from SIDTM, was given the responsibility to oversee the lab and activities in accordance with the terms of the MoU.
