NIT Agartala has released the list of provisionally shortlisted candidates for PhD Admission 2026 on its official website, nita.ac.in. The institute has announced that the online written test and interview for shortlisted applicants will be conducted on December 19, 2025. Candidates are advised to check their names and read the instructions carefully before appearing for the selection process.

The institute has clarified that the current selection is purely provisional. Shortlisted candidates must present or submit all required documents for verification on the day of the test. These documents include educational certificates from Madhyamik (secondary) level onward, GATE/NET scorecards (if applicable), proof of date of birth, and caste certificates for SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories.

Candidates also need to provide PwD or EWS certificates, wherever applicable, along with proof of work experience and copies of research publications, if any. All documents must be accompanied by self-attested copies.
Full-time sponsored and part-time candidates are required to produce a valid No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer in the prescribed format. Failure to provide the NOC may result in cancellation of their consideration for admission.
The online written test will include MCQ-based questions covering undergraduate and postgraduate-level topics relevant to each candidate’s specialisation. Detailed guidelines, test modalities, and interview links will be published on the institute’s website before the exam
NIT Agartala has urged all candidates to visit the official website regularly for updates regarding the test schedule, document requirements, and other instructions. The institute emphasised that fulfilling all eligibility criteria is mandatory for final admission consideration.
