NIMHANS Offers Certificate Course in Crisis Intervention and Trauma Care for Social Work Postgraduates; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is all set to offer a three-month certificate course in Crisis Intervention and Social Work Practice in Trauma Care tailored for postgraduate social work students. 

According to the NIMHANS, this is the 8th batch of the three-month certificate course aimed to address the training requirements in Emergency and Trauma Care.

NIMHANS Certificate Course 2023: Eligibility Criteria 

Eligibility for the certificate course is open to individuals who have completed a full-time Master’s Degree in Social Work from a UGC-recognized university with an aggregate score of at least 55% in the Master’s Degree. 

Candidates can be admitted directly, deputed from other organizations, or sponsored by State/Central Government, Armed forces, or other NGOs through the appropriate channels.

NIMHANS Certificate Course 2023: How to Apply? 

Interested applicants must submit their applications, either via email or as a hard copy on plain paper. Alongside the application, candidates should include the following documents: a one-page statement explaining their motivation for enrolling in the certificate course, a detailed bio-data with a recent passport-size photograph, complete postal address, Email ID, and contact number. 

Further, any relevant documents providing research or work experience should be provided if available. The application deadline for the "Crisis Intervention and Social Work Practice in Trauma Care" course is September 20, 2023. 

Selection will be based on the interview process, which will be conducted online on September 22, 2023, and the list of shortlisted candidates for the certificate course will be out on September 25, 2023.

This program aims to equip candidates with crucial knowledge and skills necessary for identifying, assessing, and offering psychosocial first aid during crisis situations and traumatic events. It will involve case-based learning, interactive didactic sessions, direct guidance from faculty members specializing in trauma-related fields, and hands-on training. 

This comprehensive approach will enable participants to effectively address mental health concerns and promote well-being among caregivers and family members.
