What Does the NCET 2026 Scorecard Contain?

The scorecard is the primary document for ITEP counselling. It carries the following information:

  • Application and roll number
  • Section-wise marks scored
  • Overall NTA score
  • Qualifying status
  • All India Rank

Who Conducts NCET and Why It Matters

NCET is a national-level entrance test held once a year by the NTA. It is the single gateway to the 4-Year ITEP across participating institutions. The ITEP was launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a dual-major degree.

The programme combines a Bachelor's degree in a chosen subject with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). It replaces the older two-year B.Ed route for students entering the teaching profession after Class 12.

Why This Matters

ITEP saves one full year for aspiring teachers. The four-year route replaces the older 3+2 pathway and is the minimum qualification for school teaching from 2030 under NEP 2020.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Visit exams.nta.nic.in/ncet and download the scorecard.
  2. Cross-check personal details, sectional scores, and qualifying status.
  3. Save and print at least two copies of the scorecard.
  4. Track the official websites of participating universities for counselling notices.
  5. Keep Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, category certificate, and ID proof ready for admission.
Keep an Eye On

Watch for counselling schedules from participating Central and State Universities. Institute-level cut-offs and seat allotment notices are expected on the NTA portal soon.
