The Medical Counselling Committee has extended the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 registration deadline till August 15. Choice filling now closes on August 17 and the seat allotment result will be released on August 19 at mcc.nic.in.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended a key NEET UG 2026 deadline. Candidates can now register for Round 1 counselling till August 15, 2026. The revised notice appeared on the official website at mcc.nic.in on August 13, 2026.
MCC has also pushed the choice filling and locking window. The Round 1 seat allotment result will now be delayed by two days. Reporting to allotted institutes will also shift under the new plan.

Why the Schedule Was Revised
The counselling process faced fresh disruptions earlier this week. The National Medical Commission (NMC) issued a new order on August 5, 2026. It introduced revised provisions for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates. MCC then paused the choice locking window on the earlier deadline.
The commission has now issued a fresh plan to give aspirants clarity. The move helps candidates complete registration and choice locking without stress. It also aligns the process with the new PwBD rules from NMC.

How to Register for MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1?
Registration for the All India Quota seats happens only on the MCC portal. State quota candidates must apply on their respective state counselling websites.
- Visit the official website at mcc.nic.in.
- Click on the UG Medical Counselling link on the homepage.
- Register using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and password.
- Fill in personal, academic and contact details on the form.
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee online through UPI or card.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Seats Covered Under MCC NEET UG 2026 Counselling
MCC handles the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS and BDS seats. It also covers central universities, deemed universities and AIIMS institutes. ESIC medical colleges and AFMC seats are also filled through this portal.
This is the second revision to the Round 1 schedule within a week. Aspirants must track mcc.nic.in daily for any further updates. Missing the extended deadline will block entry into the allotment pool.
