The INI SS January 2026 departmental assessment (stage II) of all shortlisted candidates will be conducted between December 9 to 13, 2025. The exam dates for departmental assessment of each department will be published in due course.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has released the shortlist of candidates eligible for Stage II (Departmental Assessment) of the INI SS January 2026 session. The assessment is scheduled to be held from December 9 to December 13, 2025.

The Stage-I written exam for INI SS was conducted on November 22, 2025, in computer-based mode, and the results were declared on December 1, 2025, on the official portal. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the Stage-I merit list are now eligible to participate in the departmental assessment.

The Departmental Assessment (Stage-II) will be conducted online via video conferencing and carries 20 marks. This stage is mandatory for admission to super-speciality courses (DM, MCh, MD Hospital Administration) at AIIMS and PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Only those who qualified for Stage I and have applied to institutes requiring Stage II will attend this assessment. After completion, two separate merit lists will be generated - an AIIMS Merit List (AML) for AIIMS/PGIMER seats (based on combined Stage-I + Stage-II marks), and a Common Merit List (CML) for other participating Institutes of National Importance (based on Stage-I only).
