IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub Collaborates with CSJMU and CSJMIF to Offer Cyber Security Vocational Program 2024

IIT Kanpur's C3iHub, CSJMU and CSJMIF jointly offer a Cyber Security Vocational Program. The program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and expertise required to grow in the fast-evolving field of cybersecurity.

New Delhi: The C3iHub at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) Kanpur and the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Innovation Foundation (CSJMIF) introduced a Cyber Security Vocational Program.

The collaboration was formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IIT Kanpur. This six-month program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and expertise required to grow in the fast-evolving field of cybersecurity.

Prominent personalities such as Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, and Prof. Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of CSJMU, along with principals from 20 affiliated colleges, attended the ceremony which was held on June 6, 2024. Everyone hopes to provide a strong platform for students to learn practical knowledge and skills that are essential in today's digital through this program.

What are the Highlights of IIT Kanpur Cyber Security Vocation Program 2024?

  • The course curriculum covers a range of topics, including system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography & IoT security. This is an entirely online course that will offer students foundational knowledge as well as practical experience.
  • A key component of the training involves using the customized labs available to each student through the Cyber Range. This setup ensures that students gain hands-on learning and acquire industry-relevant skills, preparing them for successful careers in cybersecurity.
  • The C3iHub will offer a Virtual Lab for course practicals, offer technical support to students through a help desk, and issue certificates of participation or completion, along with final assessment results for all students.

What are Key Roles of CSJMU & CSJMIF in IIT Kanpur Cyber Security Vocation Program 2024?

The CSJMU will ensure the program's smooth execution, while CSJMIF will provide the platform for its implementation. This initiative aims to enroll up to 50,000 students, marking a significant step towards fostering cybersecurity expertise in India.

Dr. Tanima Hajra, Chief Operating Officer (COO), along with Interim CEO of C3iHub, Anil Kumar Yadav, Registrar of CSJMU, and Vivek Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of CSJMIF, signed the MoU between IIT Kanpur, CSJMU & CSJMIF.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said that the Cyber Security Vocational Program will help students to develop a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, expanding their knowledge to an advanced level of cybersecurity, which will make them future-ready.

Prof. Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor, CSJMU, said that the MoU reflects CSJMU's dedication to providing students with industry-relevant education. The cybersecurity program will equip them with the knowledge and expertise to tackle upcoming challenges in this critical domain.
