New Delhi: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is inviting applications for admission to its INUP Hands-On Training Program on Nanofabrication and Characterization Techniques. Interested candidates can apply till August 24, 2023. 

The Hands-on Training Program at IISc Bangalore is financed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Government of India from September 4 to September 14, 2023. 

Candidates enrolling in this "Hands-on Training/Advanced Training Program" will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and techniques to develop essential micro/nanoscale devices. The training modules will be briefed and guided by expert technologists.

The training modules are well-designed to provide you with hands-on experience in wafer cleaning (RCA1 and RCA2), wet chemical etching, dry oxidation, thermal evaporation, RF sputtering, photolithography, and mask-building operations. There will be an opportunity to use characterisation tools to acquire information on the qualities of the training devices you built.

The purpose of this training, according to the official announcement, is to provide prospective users of the CEN facilities at IISc with practical experience.

There are no registration fees and expenses like TA and lodging for academic participants. Accommodation will be arranged by INUP at IISc as per rule, and TA will be provided equivalent upto 3rd AC Rail fare for Faculty/Postdoc Researchers (completed PhD), Faculty pursuing PhD and Research Scholars by the shortest route from the place of work to Bangalore and back. No DA will be provided for this period.

IISc Bangalore Courses and Fees

Young faculty members and scholars registered for PhD with research interests in related areas will be given the highest priority for selection.

Undergraduate and master levels course students are normally not selected for this program.

Research scientists from national research centres and Scientists from private industries are welcome to attend this program on a payment basis only. However, they will not be eligible for any travel support.
