Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has collaborated with the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) and J & K Forest Department to initiate the launch of a new initiative, titled “Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive 2023-24”. Read Details!

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has joined hands with Principal Chief Conservator of the Forests (HoFF) and J & K Forest Department through a collaboration to start the new launch of “Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive 2023-24”.
As per IIM Jammu, this initiative will include entertaining and important activities emphasising the institution's dedication to environmental preservation and community involvement. On this occasion, plantation drives were carried across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Guest Manoj Sinha inaugurated the “Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive 2023-24” with a planting ceremony, indicating a gesture of nurturing nature.
The formal inauguration event began with Chief Guest Manoj Sinha's arrival on stage, followed by the National Anthem. The event featured a delivery of potted plants to the dignitaries, which represents the relationship between humans and the environment.
IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Territorial) & HoFF of Jammu, Roshan Jaggi gave the welcome address at IIM Jammu and urged the participants and students to be more assertive towards forest conservation.
Speaking on this occasion, Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary, IAS, Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment, said, "Our actions today shape the legacy we leave behind”. The event also included filming of the short documentary "Van Sanrakshan" on Forest Demarcation, which focused on the significance of preserving the state's abundant forest resources.
Professor BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu on behalf of Dr. Milind. P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors of IIM Jammu expressed his good wishes for a vibrant success to the “Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive 2023-’24” which is starting at IIM Jammu. Lastly, he encouraged all the stakeholders to contribute for a “Green and Clean IIM Jammu.”
