Indira Gandhi University (IGU) is inviting applications for admission to its Ph.D program for the academic session 2024-25. The last date to apply online is January 24, 2025.

Note: Candidates must deposit fees and submit proof to the respective department on the same day during counselling.

IGU PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Ph.D. program must meet the following academic requirements:

General Eligibility:

  • A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade (UGC/AICTE seven-point scale) in the relevant subject or a related field.

For the Department of Management:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or a related field with at least 55% marks, OR
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) recognized as equivalent to an MBA by AICTE with 55% marks or equivalent grade.
  • These candidates are also eligible for Ph.D. programs in Economics and Commerce.

M.Phil. Degree Holders:

  • M.Phil. (regular mode, UGC-compliant) or equivalent degree beyond the Master’s level with 55% marks in a relevant subject and at the postgraduate level.

Note: A 5% relaxation (to 50%) is provided for SC/ST, BC (non-creamy layer), differently-abled candidates, and those from the EWS category of Haryana.

Important Notes

  1. SC students from families with an annual income of ₹2.5 lakhs or less may apply for reimbursement of certain fees following guidelines from the Haryana Government.
  2. Refund Policy:
    • If a candidate withdraws within 7 days of admission without attending any class, a refund will be given after deducting 10% of the total fee (minimum ₹1,000).
    • Withdrawal within 15 days of admission results in a refund after deducting 15% of the total fee (minimum ₹2,000).
    • Vacant seats must be filled by the concerned department chairperson.
