IGNOU Signs MoUs with IAF for Skill-Based Bachelor Degree Programs; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force to provide skill-based Bachelor degree Programmes to the Agniveers. Interested individuals can now apply for these courses through the official website ignou.ac.in from August 1, 2023. 

The collaboration with the armed forces enables IGNOU to offer five skill-based courses:

• BAAS: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills)
• BAASTM: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) Tourism Management
• BAASMSME: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) MSME
• BCOMAS: Bachelor of Commerce (Applied Skills)
• BSCAS: Bachelor of Science (Applied Skills)

Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in, and submit their applications for these skill-based degree programmes.

These five programs consist of a total of 120 credits, with 60 credits offered by IGNOU and the remaining 60 credits provided as in-service skill education by the Armed Forces.

The skill courses offered by the Armed Forces have received approval from the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), the regulatory body for skill education. These programs align with the recommendations of NEP 2020, which emphasize the integration of higher education with skill education.

The partnership's main objective is to assist the Agniveers in obtaining a Bachelor's Degree while serving in the Armed Forces. Furthermore, the experts involved aim to enhance the Agniveers' employability prospects post-service.

How to apply for IGNOU Agniveers Admission 2023? 

Interested candidates can follow the steps to apply online for IGNOU Agniveers programs:

Step 1: Go to the official website of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) @ignou.ac.in.

Step 2: Navigate to the "Admissions" or "Agniveers Admissions" section on the homepage.

Step 3: Review the eligibility criteria and the list of skill-based UG Degree Courses offered for Agniveers.

Step 4: Click on the "Apply Online" button or link associated with the desired course.

Step 5: Register or Login by providing the required details, such as name, email address, mobile number, etc. 

Step 6: Fill in all the necessary information in the online application form, including personal details, educational qualifications, and any other required information. 

Step 7: Upload scanned copies of relevant documents as specified.

Step 8: Review the application form and proceed to make the necessary fee payment. 

Step 9: Finally, take a printout of the online application form and submit it. 

A special inauguration ceremony was conducted at the IGNOU Campus to commence the admission process for Agniveers from the Indian Air Force on August 1, 2023. During the event, an exclusive Admission Portal tailored specifically for the Agniveers was officially launched.
